Police and firefighters in Alton, Illinois were attacked three seperate times by a mob at the Oakwood Housing Complex with a barrage of bottle rockets and fireworks on the 4th of July. The firefighters were called out three seperate times and were ambushed by the mob each time. The Telegraph reported, via Jammie Wearing Fool:
The confrontations began at 10:20 p.m. and within the 40 minutes it took to resolve the first incident, police were attacked three times. It started when a firetruck was dispatched to extinguish a Dumpster fire in the 700 block of Oakwood and was immediately attacked by the crowd shooting and throwing fireworks at them.
According to two police reports, Patrolman First Class Walter Wetzstein and several other officers already were on their way to the scene because of the large amounts of fireworks being set off at that location. Both reports stated that in the past, fires have been set to lure the fire department out so they could be attacked by fireworks.
When officers arrived, they too were attacked by the mob with bottle rockets thrown from behind buildings. Police responded with pepper-ball guns and at one point pursued attackers in an attempt to restore order. Officers left when firefighters were able to extinguish the Dumpster fire but quickly returned to the housing complex because of reports of people shot or injured in the 800 block of Oakwood. Police did not find anyone injured but again were attacked by fireworks and

It got pretty bad after the cops shot one guy who was chasing another guy with an ax. Surprisingly, the housing authority cracked down after that and kicked out a bunch of troublemakers. It was never a good place, but after that we could go in and take care of business without too many hassles.
I hate Illinois Nazis.
a great use for high pressure hoses just occurred to me
Hubby worked in one of our surrounding towns that is mostly illegal immigrants. They wore kevlar vests on runs and there was one alley off main street between 2 bars that when they went on a call they would throw beer bottles at the engine. Their front plate glass window at the station was shot out by a drive by.
There are animals all across the country now.
let it burn
The problem is, they live in public housing, which means, if burned down, they may just move these animals in to the rental house on your block. And you get to pay their rent while another containment compound (aka " the projects") is constructed.
Mayor Daley and 46 aldermen will no doubt vote to ban bottle rockets. Thanks blueyon.
Maybe. The government is running out of money, and the law abiding will be nothing but targets. Doesn’t FEMA have tons of those mobile homes just laying around, doing nothing?
How much longer will the taxpayers put up with this nonsense?
Fire Departments are NOT for the entertainment of imbeciles.
Shortly after unemployment benefits run out.
People develop this amazing ability to cope with the most outrageous crap until hunger and homelessness creep in. Since taxpayers allegedly have an income, they aren't necessarily hungry and homeless. We have always had savages living among us, but when our otherwise decent yet unemployed neighbor goes native because the benefits run out and he is hungry and evicted, then it will get a little wierd.
My spouse and I had this conversation a while ago. So when does one go Claire Wolfe ?
If you aren't hungry and you have a roof over your head, you probably won't because you have too much to lose. I think that a lot of human barbarism could be learned by looking at the aftermath of Katrina. When one is getting elbowed away by a uniform wearing cop looting the last box of Frosted Flakes from Walmart, then for those predisposed to violently settling scores - you have your engraved invitation to follow up on that urge.
For those of us who are of the Faith, though I am not a Dispensationalist, I am entirely open to the idea that we are in God's "End Game" based on the fact that God, not Diebold nor the Supreme Court "selects" our leadership. Since we literally have insane people at all levels ruling over us, and based on a thoroughal analysis of calculating upper limits, we are, globaly speaking entering into a thousand years of darkness. So whether one has faith, or is agnostic, there are practical ramifications to putting up with this nonsense - for it is rearranging deckchairs on the Titanic.
Putting it quite simply, though some might argue otherwise, the ammo-box is not an alternative to the ballot box. There just isn't enough ammunition. Furthermore, how do you think these dopes got elected? Thank your idiot neighbors.
Let's pretend that the Tom Clancey 747 Fantasy happened, or a profoundly luck-shot with a W-88 equivalent blast when every Congress Critter was in town. Before the smoke even cleared, your neighbors would somehow manage to vote in identical replacements of the idiots that were just immolated. This is clearly a hearts and mind thing, or we need to go back to white, male property owners having exclusive suffrage.
The best advice I can offer is, plan your escape route and then just outrun them.

Hmmm... being in SoCal, I really doubt out running them will be an option. More precisely, being in southern orange county is even worse. It would take 2 hours to get north of LA, or 2 hours to get to the dessert going east. South would be out of the question. I fear being stuck on the road when the zombies look for easy pickings. Prepping the best I can and praying.
As to God being in charge, that I have no doubt about. I have just have this rising sense of dread that is not going away. Yes, the idiots have voted their greed, and the country will suffer the results of covetousness. The coming dark saddens me because I have a teenage daughter. Her generation will pay a heavy price due to no fault of their own. I pray every night that God will prepare our hearts to stay fixed on Him, in this coming deluge.
I grew up near you in a town once called El Toro, and when I went back a few years ago to show my fiance the house wherein I grew up, the whole area had been overrun by unruly savages. Truly, I wanted to cry, but as a man, it only strengthened my resolve for the the coming storm.
the ammo-box is not an alternative to the ballot box. When, as a people and a society, our backs are up against the wall with no other recourse, to NOT take up the ammo box is to commit cultural suicide. It may not be a viable option now, but to rule it out future use is unwise, and I don't want to be unwise, if only for the sake of my family and loved ones.
We are not far from El Toro, but our area is still good.
But I do know what you mean. I grew up in the San Fernando Valley, and I have not even wanted to see how bad that got. I even went to kindergarten in Lake View Terrace, of Rodney King fame.
I have grown up having left areas that have gone kaput most of my life.
I fully understand what you felt. It is very sad.
When the LINK cards stop working it'll be about 48 hours until there's a nice rosy glow in the evening sky about 35 miles west of me.
Alton is too far away for us to see from here. It's actually a nice town and home to the best bar in America, Fast Eddie's Bon Air. It'll be a damned shame when it goes up in flames.
Of course if the regular Fast Eddie's crowd decides to stand their ground I'll put my money on them over the Goblins.
Slacker.
