A good shake out by I-5/Genessee (Campus Point)
Good rolling motion...building creaking... doors swinging.
Felt it pretty good on the 3rd floor in Glendale, Ca.
Yeah! My earthquake apps both said 5.9!
Palm Desert area here—that was a strong one. I’ve lived in SoCAl for many yrs—that was the first one that really got my attention & my dog’s.
We had one on Easter that was a long roller, this was a real jolt followed by a very long, but gentle roller.
Hanging objects well shaken, nothing fell, no damage or injuries here.
HUMMMMMM San Andreas huh?
Very strong rolling motion here at LAX. Felt like I was on a boat.
Lasted for at least 15-20 seconds.
Downgraded to a 5.4; already had 7 aftershocks...
Reported as 5.4 now. Definitely felt stronger than that. Probably because this one was very shallow compared to the others the last few months. It was less than 1/2 mile deep. I live in North San Diego County, and this felt like the 7.0 that hit Northern Mexico around Easter.
Lakewood, CA felt slight soft movement.
I’m starting to think something’s wrong with me. I live in Carlsbad and while my whole family was here on Easter and felt that one, I didn’t. Didn’t feel this one either. I just happened to call one of our daughters (also lives in Carlsbad) around 5 pm and she answered the phone with, “We’re all okay.” I had no idea what she was talking about. Weird!!!! As a native Californian, I’ve felt a number of them before. Oh well.
Down graded to 5.4
Out in lizard country.
[LA Times] Updated at 5:07 p.m.: The USGS downgraded the quake to 5.4 magnitude. The Los Angeles Fire Department said it has not gotten reports of serious damage or injuries. Residents in Riverside County told The Times the quake provided a sharp jolt — but they have not witnessed major damage.
Riverside Police Chief Sergio Diaz said he felt strong jolts at the police headquarters but there was no initial report of serious damage.
So far everything is okay, Diaz said. To me it felt like two separate events. The first felt like a fore-shock, the second one was stronger.
I was walking between patients rooms and barely felt it but my office girls started screaming and headed for the door frames here in the Imperial Valley. My guess was 4.5 but the office staff yelled “6.0 at least”. Guess we were both wrong. Surprising, since we have all become experts here in the Valley since Easter.
Is that close to Hemet?
I’d hate to be on the tram half way up to San Jacinto when that happened!
We had a light fixture above our dinning room table break! That’s a first.
Didn’t feel nothing.
I’m in NoCal. LOL
Still, been in that area plenty and you would feel a 5.9 no doubt.
Did not feel in Santa Monica.
