So all that thunder about the Arizona law being discriminatory was nothing but political smoke and mirrors. Meanwhile Holder and the Bamster have ended up with egg on their faces with this latest development.

So Arizona is getting sued for writing a law the echoes existing federal law? How do the plaintiffs resolve that? (I think the answer is: Arizona is fed up enough to enforce that law, where the feds are happy to sit and be clock-punchers.)

a state does a law lawfully which enforces the Fed law and obama /cronies file a lawsuit

next they drop charges against black racists outside a voting place where they held sticks and used racist language

SICKENING, this admin does not care for the rule of law or this country, those idiots who voted for obama have let a race baiter in and now they stand there while racists are let go but those who break the law coming here are being helped

the Dem party is the party is the KKK, racists, scruffs, and those who hate this country

If the federal government does not want the states to enforce federal immigration law, could the states say O.K. we will cease enforcement of any and all federal laws.

The problem with attacking the bill as ‘discrimination’ risks getting the entire Civil Rights Agenda being thrown out the door in the Supreme Court. They are smart enough not to go there.

As bad a it sucks I think DOJ has a good case and will not only be granted the injunction, but will ultimately prevail.

The courts have agreed that state and local police can enforce any federal law, unless Congress has specifically forbidden enforcement of a particular law. Since Congress has not forbidden the states from enforcing federal immigration laws—both criminal and civil—state and local police have the inherent authority to enforce them.

Maybe the local authorities in AZ should stop arresting kidnappers, bank robbers, and the like. Would not want to step on any Federal toes after all./sarc

Why don't the feds sue about this? Same reasoning as the brief they filed against AZ.

Supremacy clause is bogus in this case. First, because AZ is not taking over immigration enforcement from the Feds, only dealing with its failed aftermath.

Second, the Feds have abdicated their responsibility in regards to illegal immigration. As the Tenth Amendment spells out, the states are free to assume responsibilities which are not claimed by the Feds.

It's now July. My crystal ball tells me that once 0bama's handlers start to read the September poll numbers the suit will be quietly dropped.

Clinton wouldn't have made this mistake. He'd have read the polls first. The worst thing that could happen to the Democrat party in November is if this thing bleeds them until October, and it will. The amateurs around 0bama will respond in the only way they know: with a massive media campaign and a few rent-a-mobs. It will only make matters worse.

The Justice Dept has to argue that they oppose Arizona enforcing local, state and federal laws.

Pathetic.

I have never heard Obama state that he opposed the Arizona bill on these grounds. It was always because of discrimination concerns (which are non-existent).

It would seem this opens up the door for the defense to air for the America people the failures of this administration (and others) in enforcing our immigration laws.

So let’s get this straight. Holder and his DOJ sue Arizona for nothing more than reiterating and enforcing current Federal law....

....and give the New Black Panthers a free pass despite video evidence.

F**k ‘em.
