Congressional Republicans are issuing stinging rebukes of President Obamas decision to sue the State of Arizona for enforcing the law. A sampling from the leadership and the two Arizona senators.
Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell made the following statement Tuesday regarding the lawsuit filed against Arizona by the federal government:
Suing the people of Arizona for attempting to do a job the federal government has utterly failed to execute will not help secure our borders. If the President wants to make real progress on this issue, he can do so by taking amnesty off the table and focus his efforts on border and interior security.
It is long past time for this administration to prioritize solving a crisis over imposing an agenda and the first step is to recognize that attorneys and amnesty are not acceptable alternatives to border security and job creation.
House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) issued the following statement today following the Obama Administrations decision to sue the state of Arizona for enforcing its immigration laws:
The violence on Americas border is out of control, and the federal government isn't doing its job. The people of Arizona have a right to enforce their own laws, especially if the federal government is failing to live up to its responsibilities. The federal government shouldnt be suing Arizona it should be helping Arizona, and other states, to stop the crime and lawlessness along the border.
States have a right and a responsibility to ensure order and the safety of their citizens

Makes think of the old joke about about 'what do you call a couple of dozen lawyers buried up to their chin on a beach, just before high tide?"
I suppose the Obamabuga admin will be suggesting contingency plans for evacuating Arizona soon due to the massive leak at the border
As the government sues itself, maybe the courtroom will have mirrors up so they can watch themselves sue themselves.
The Supremacy Clause says federal laws power over state laws. Article 6, clause 2 of the U.S. Constitution that states that laws made "under the authority of the United States, shall be the supreme law of the land; and the judges in every state shall be bound thereby, anything in the Constitution or laws of any state to the contrary notwithstanding."
Actually, the Constitution only specifies that Congress provide for a uniform rule of naturalization. If you include penalties for illegal entry under this, Congress has specified that it is against the law to be in the country illegally.
Nowhere in the Constitution is it specified that anyone in the government can decide not to enforce the law. In fact, the Supremacy Clause, states that the Constitution [and the laws passed that support it] are the supreme law of the land. All government officials, judges, and States are obligated to follow it. The current law specifies penalties for illegal entry into the country.
The 10th Amendment specifies that anything not specifically reserved to the government by the Constitution [nor specifically prohibited to the states by the Constitution] is reserved to the States or the People. Law enforcement is not specifically reserved to the government and the States are bound by the Supremacy Clause to follow federal law. And the 10th Amendment allows the States to do it ...
So NOW the obambi boyz, are suing a State for enforcing laws against illegal acts? Maybe Arizona should make murder legal too, that way they won’t be sued by obambi for that.
Thank you for the post of the day. I remember some years back when I was telling others on this board that the pubbies are liberal lite. I got hammered. In this thread alone, many are now calling them for what they are, "p*ssies" and/or "turncoats".
Reminder: I didn't leave the Republican Party; they left me.
Bet they blow this one, also. If not, I will eat crow, and happily do so.
Thank you for serving.

Don't hold your breath for the party of girly-men to stand tall.
The border states’ most important function is controlling the border. For that purpose, they should receive federal funding much like they do for maintaining an interstate highway. Such funding and assistance should be what it takes to do the job.
And you KNOW that's going to happen... probably even now, he's getting that peculiar, irritating look on his face.
Not nearly enough!
A GOOD START!!
