Prosecutors say they lack resources, facilities
It's illegal to enter the United States without permission. At least technically.
Improper entry by an immigrant is a misdemeanor, punishable by up to six months in prison. A second offense is a felony, punishable by up to two years in prison.
But in practice, it's treated much less seriously.
"We basically do not prosecute that offense," said Thom Mrozek, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office in Los Angeles. "Essentially, if you're an illegal alien and you come across the border and we find you, we almost never do anything."

Print Email Font Resize nice title.
Font resizing has become an epidemic... To allow this TYPE of behavior is inexcusable.
I’ll be in the shower, ping me when you get the title fixed.
Good night. I expect more respect tomorrow.
OK, I give up. What’s with the title?
Shameful.
Thailand?
Print. Email. Font. RESIZE !
LA sounds like a good place to commit crime. It might be time for me to take up that bank-robbing career I always dreamed about.
It was a copy and paste issue. Hey when I went to college we didn’t have computers so I’m still on the learning curve.
If you resize the font in your email and then run it through a text-to-speech engine, can you get more talking points?
The bigger problem, I think, is that at some point the offense of “improper entry” is completed and the criminal consequences go away. If you’re caught after the initial entry, it’s just a civil matter for which the only punishment is deportation.
IMHO, the offense of “illegally present in the United States” should be and remain a crime, because it is an ongoing offense. There should be no statute of limitations on it, as each new day an illegal alien is here is a new offense or a continuation of the initial offense.

There you are.
Well, then, lets sue the US Attorney’s Office and everyone in it in the LA office for the bill run up by the illegals!
Not a bad idea ;-)
Just......wow.
Especially when you factor in that illegals have overwhelmingly avoided the census forms.
