Good point. And as I stated earlier, I’m sure Shea-Pelosi voted NO on it with San Fran Nan’s blessing, knowing she’s WAY behind in the polls. Just like her vote against TARP in October of 2008, this is a strictly political move which will enable her to say, “See, I’m INDEPENDENT!!!” when we know damned good and well she’s anything but.
I’m sure you’re right, in that Ms. Porter was given “special dispensation” to vote against the bill, given the trouble she’s in back in the home district. The vote was pretty close though, given that no Republicans voted in favor, and it does make you wonder about the ones who chose not to vote.
