Reports Bob Probert has passed away Rest in Peace 24
From a Bruins fan who has had the pleasure of watching some rough players, Bob Probert very tough player, indeed. May he rest in peace. Condolences to his family and loved ones.
Died seven years younger than I am. What a shame.
Way too young.
A cryin shame.
RIP
I’m a Philadelphia Flyers fan, since the days of the Broad Street Bullies. This guy could have played back in that era.
One of the greatest enforcers of all time. Hated him when he played for the wings loved him when he played for the Hawks.
Remember the fights with Domi, classic.
Prayers and thoughts with his family.
RIP
Bob Probert, Former Redwing and Blackhawk enforcer dead at 45
Bob Probert could take a punch with the best of them. Sometimes he’d get hit square in the face and it didn’t even seem to affect him. He could be an enforcer, but he could also play hockey. I remember the announcer Ron MacLean in Canada pointing out, ironically, that Probert was known for his soft hands in front of the goal.
I was watching MacLean interview Probert once on a satellite feed. Probert seemed a little bothered at the start of the interview, prompting MacLean to ask if he needed some water. Probert said no and went ahead with the interview, tilting his head downward the whole time. After the interview during the commercial break, a woman off-camera on the satellite feed said that Probert had been waiting for his TEETH. I think he was missing his upper teeth, which is why he kept looking down during the interview.
