Obama's worst foreign-policy mistake
Washington Post ^ | Tuesday, July 6, 2010 | Mitt Romney

Posted on 07/05/2010 8:55:26 PM PDT by Pan_Yan

Given President Obama's glaring domestic policy missteps, it is understandable that the public has largely been blinded to his foreign policy failings. In fact, these may have been even more damaging to America's future. He fought to reinstate Honduras's pro-Chávez president while stalling Colombia's favored-trade status. He castigated Israel at the United Nations but was silent about Hamas having launched 7,000 rockets from the Gaza Strip. His policy of "engagement" with rogue nations has been met with North Korean nuclear tests, missile launches and the sinking of a South Korean naval vessel, while Iran has accelerated its nuclear program, funded terrorists and armed Hezbollah with long-range missiles. He acceded to Russia's No. 1 foreign policy objective, the abandonment of our Europe-based missile defense program, and obtained nothing whatsoever in return.

Despite all of this, the president's New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (New-START) with Russia could be his worst foreign policy mistake yet. The treaty as submitted to the Senate should not be ratified.

These aren’t “mistakes”.

Obama’s GOAL is to destroy America’s economy, wreck our social structure - what’s left of it and destroy our ability to function as a world power or even protect ourselves.

SO Far he’s doing quite well at all of the above.

That's what you get when you put into office someone who plays President with such a high handicap.

Romney is DOA because of Masscare. He really needs to get out of the way to save every viable candidate money.

I would feel better if someone (perhaps Mitt) can convince me that these are mere mistakes and "mis-steps" from an incompetent (and alleged) president, with no evil or malignant intent.

I, of course, don't claim to know Mr. Obama's intent; however Mitt's above dots appear somewhat connectable, n'est ce pas?

Everything Obama does, Everything, is a big FU to America.

He shows up to National functions with no tie. He is saying plainly, Screw YOU. Iz doz what Iz wants.

But it is getting more and more serious.
I think, and this is my own conjecture, that even Soros is thinking, “WTF?”.

Even Soros is saying, “What the hell did I do?”.

Obama has been laughed off the foreign stage by every leader so he’s looking for anything to claim as a win. His plan for global spending was so widely rejected that even the Eouros think he’s a socialist. Now he’s going to Russia to give away the store and claim victory.

You're right, how do you rate/rank so many serious problems? It's like looking at a house leveled by a tornado and trying to decide if the broken windows or ripped off shingles are worse. (ok, the analogy cops may come after me for that one)

I wouldn't sign any deal with the Russians. The FBI just nabbed what, 50 or so Russian spies in our Country? I'd tell them all treaties, all agreements in the works, everything is on hold while we "re-evaluate our relationship."

"These aren’t “mistakes”."

Anymore, a rational observer must conclude that describing The Obammunist's policies as "mistakes" is actually aiding and abeting by rationalization.

Intentional steps covered by a pseudo-intellectual cover rap.

If you say enough smart-sounding stuff you’ll fool a lot of people.

I can’t recall any moves he’s made that have been in our or our allies interest.

To be fair.... Mitt is right but Sarah Palin said basically everything that he wrote in her Speeches and facebook, and people still say that she is not serious about heavier substance material?

Who said any of it is a ‘mistake’?
The flaw of Mitt’s piece is he is assuming 0bama’s foreign policy isn’t a deliberate “man-caused disaster.”
