“Years ago, when I lived in NM, I thought Arizona Republic was a good newspaper.”
Many years ago most newspapers were decent. Now most are run by lefties pushing their agenda and masquerading propaganda as news. This article is a perfect example.
Most of the leftist media are claiming Harry is making a comeback. They’re lying, of course.
I have referred to it as “The Repubic” for some time now. From the misleading headlines, the contradictory stories beneath them, and the outright misstatements of fact the only thing that remains straight journalism is the Scrabble-Gram.
they have. must have gotten their talking points.
if not for Gannett’s big bucks............
Harry doesn’t like the AZ law???
Too bad someone doesn’t throw this in his lying face.
Harry Reid: illegal aliens free loaders and scam artists
OH! THE IRONY!
From John Lollipop..
Reid, now an impassioned champion of amnesty for 20 million illegal aliens in America, once called illegal aliens free loaders and scam artists which he proposed to deal with in his Immigration Stabilization Act in the United States Senate in 1993. That proposed legislation was introduced to the floor of the US Senate with the following press release, in part, issued by Reids office on August 5, 1993. In response to increased terrorism and abuse of social programs by aliens, (I) today introduced the first and only comprehensive immigration reform bill in Congress. Currently, an alien living illegally in the United States often pays no taxes but receives unemployment, welfare, free medical care, and other federal benefits. Recent terrorist acts, including the World Trade Center bombing, have underscored the need to keep violent criminals out of the country.

i started reading the comments on the “article”. the usual “obots” are posting there.
if one reads the comments section, most of the time it’s a “warped snapshot” of what readers think. too many obot posts.
lately the polls online have been interesting. IMHO, the polls are a legitimate snapshot of the voters. i, probably like many visitors to their site, get really tired of the obot postings and don’t read the comments anymore.
one poster, gonzo, called WWII vets (re: article in which the American Legion in Apache Junction said they weren’t going to celebrate Cinco de Mayo anymore because it’s not an official holiday, here or in Mexico.) gonzo the obot, said that the WWII vets, just joined the service to get out of “serving”. makes one wonder what drugs have reached that coherent mind?
hahaha
Just more whistling past the grave yard.
I’m a Barry Young fan too! I also miss Bruce Jacobs and how he would scream THE RAAAAAAAAG.
Barry kicks butt. He makes me laugh too!
Thanks, that explains it. I last read that paper in the mid-1980’s.
That was BC (before Clinton).
I lived in Arizona’s White Mountains 30 years ago. The Arizona Republic was definitely a good paper then. Sounds like it’s gone the way of many once-good papers.
Yep, but Harry is strange too. I remember the little weasel being on the gaming commission when I lived in Vegas in the 80’s.
is he as “dingy” as Rush calls him?
More so. He always acted so wimpy. Tied in with the crooks.
The White Mountains is a beautiful area.
A good friend of mine (salesman) lived there for many years.
I lived in Silver City, NM from 1972-1986. I traveled Southern NM and Southeastern AZ.
I really like Sierra Vista, AZ. Had lots of good Ham friends there. I even belonged to the Cochise Amateur Radio Society.
Many of my friends in NM and AZ worked for the Labs or the Mil. Great folks, I miss them.
I lived in Pinetop when it was a sleepy little village connected by a slow two-lane road to Showlow. No traffic lights for a hundred miles. I loved it up there...magnificent country, good skiing. Last time I visited, maybe 10 years ago, I found that development had overtaken the area — the roads were widened and straightened, big shopping malls had sprung up. It look like they ruined it. It was too bad.
