OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahomans affected by last month's record floods will not receive help from the federal government.
Gov. Brad Henry announced in a news release that the White House has denied his request for disaster assistance.
This means grant programs from the Federal Emergency Management Agency will not be available to residents.
However, the news release said that the state is working to find other ways to help Oklahomans, including attempting to secure Small Business Association low-interest loans.

You are correct about that. McCain carried EVERY Oklahoma county. Quite a feat! But Bush did likewise vs. Kerry in 2004.
“Screw ‘em. They didn’t vote for us.” — James Baker.
According to people I know in OK, that statement is accurate, he didn’t carry one county in the state.
A little too red and Republican.
A little too red and Republican.
Well...if the states in question aren’t going to get any of that assistance that the federal government is supposed to provide in a natural disaster situation, what makes us think Zero would “deem” to help us in a man-made national disaster, like a nuke attack?
Seems to me...if we’re not going to get anything back from the fed gov, we shouldn’t be paying any fed gov taxes. They don’t do their job, why should we do ours? Time to secede and stop paying taxes to the feds. State taxes only.
Fair is fair.
Moby is correct, Oklahoma is the only state where McCain won every country. Also the only state where Bush in 2004 won every county.
Al Gore was the last rat POTUS nominee to win any counties there. LOL.
Oops my bad Bush in 2004 also took every Utah county.
Mr Feinberg, the dude in charge of 20 billion for damages has stated as much. The 20 billion won’t be nearly enough to pay for all the peoples damages and he specifically made reference to a percentage of claims being rejected.
I goggled feinberg, reject claims but found nothing of direct application, good luck.
Hey, if Dumbama helps them the way he is helping the Gulf Coast, they should thank their lucky stars that he is doing nothing.
