The kindest thing I have to say about this president and his administration is that they are incompetent.

The silver lining? The Demoratic Party is toast... the resulting clouds of gray... The GOP is back in power doing the socialists heavy lifting...

Am I the only one who thinks this is good news? It's $2 billion ...

Spending $2billion to make a few thousand TEMPORARY jobs will not make any difference to US! This is another transfer of wealth.

We can make more electricity with one COAL generator plant than all these + the windmills. These are ALL Obama cronies!

If you liked that the following I think puts the true costs each cost of energy in a way that the Greenies will really have no answer to.

Clean and green, the energy system we aspire to, is subsidized like no other energy source in history. By whom? Us, and our progeny. All energy has historically received some type of public support to even out the volatility of high and low price cycles. The Energy Information Agency of the U.S. government’s Department of Energy reports that, for 2008, natural gas was subsidized 25 cents per megawatt hour of electricity produced, coal received 44 cents per megawatt hour, nuclear $1.59. Oil was not reported in these numbers since oil is hardly a factor in electricity production. However, oil benefits from a variety of tax subsidies for dry well expenses and royalty holidays dating from the $10-a-barrel oil days of the late 1990s, which the administration promises to rescind. At the same time in the same year, wind energy received public subsidy of $23.37 per megawatt hour; solar energy received $24.34. These numbers do not include the additional subsidies we taxpayers have been compelled to pay for wind, solar and biofuels through the stimulus plan, the 2010 budget and the 2011 framework budget. These subsidies help support 2 percent of today’s energy system. Their proponents promise to double and double again the amounts of subsidized supply from clean and green with no commitment to ending subsidies. That’s not a new energy system.

They just borrow it from China...

Who are building an average of one coal-fired power plant per week.

I think he is funneling money to the middle east.

Abu Dhabi to build 'world's largest' solar plant

French oil firm Total and Spain's Abengoa Solar will partner with Abu Dhabi's alternative energy company Masdar to build "the world's largest" concentrated solar power plant, Masdar announced on Wednesday.

The state-owned firm said it has selected a "consortium of Total and Abengoa Solar as a partner to own, build and operate Shams 1, the world's largest concentrated solar power plant and the first of its kind in the Middle East."

"We are moving on the right path to make Abu Dhabi the main source and the international capital of renewable energy and sustainable development," Masdar CEO Sultan al-Jaber told a news conference in the oil-rich emirate.

Heh, I thought about the sweater thing too.

Of course, Jimmy at least wore his cardigan to set the example. I have no doubt Obama will continue to keep his own thermostat cranked up to 78 degrees whenever it gets the least bit chilly.

He can’t properly enjoy his Kobe beef when he’s chilly, you know.

“The two companies that will receive the funds from the president's $862 billion economic stimulus are Abengoa Solar, which will build one of the world's largest solar plants in Arizona, creating 1,600 construction jobs; and Abound Solar Manufacturing, which is building plants in Colorado and Indiana. The Obama administration says those projects will create more than 2,000 construction jobs and 1,500 permanent jobs.”

First, it's not the “President's $862 billion” and second, the cost will exceed $2 billion in just permit fees, fines and taxes.

Do these people really think that they can create jobs with government money? (no) Or do they take us for fools? (yes)

There is no way, short of violating the laws of physics, to enhance that number.

Well, of course those numbers can be enhanced. Democrats say they can and presto magic they are. We just need to believe and drink plenty of Kool-aid and it's true !!!

The accompanying photo is priceless. As he board Marine One -- not exactly powered by solar!

You’re correct. I was working with a bed & breakfast on the bay in St. Augustine. The owner said that she looked into solar to cut costs. What she found out was that solar panels do not do very well by the sea. The company who installs them discouraged her from going forward. They have issues with panels by the ocean; parts rust & the panels need to be scraped cleaned about every 2 week from the accumulation of salt film.

Having lived by the ocean for years & seeing what that does to windows, I could totally understand what the salt air would do to solar panels.

Well, you can tell he does that every day, lol. Canned photos can be so unintentionally funny. That jacket was clearly arranged, even "styled" for the photo, with the shoulder pad strategically placed to broaden out his little bird chest. Look at the position of his arm and hand. For goodness sakes, what does it weigh, he's lugging it like a sack of potatoes.

Who knows how many takes it took to get what was intented to be a jaunty and iconic image a la JFK. Stuck in the past, they just can't let go of the sixties.

Yup.

Clouds of gray. Not much of a silver lining after all .

RINOs must be ejected along with the DemoncRAT trash and replaced with people who not only KNOW the US Constitution, but will DEFEND it with their, treasure, their lives, and their sacred honor.

How many in Congress even HAVE any honor, or hold it sacred, or even know what it is?

Precious few ... precious few.

That solar array on the Denver history museum that 0bobzo used for a photo-op was funded by government. Why? The museum decided the approx. 112 year payback didn't make sense and decided against it. Especially since the panels have a 20-25 year life cycle.

odumbo’s inexperience is showing again.
He wants to force our country to go to electrical sources that cannot work on a large scale. Notice this admin likes to force action?
If this is such a great idea there kenya boy, take the White House off the grid, go wind or solar and let us know how that works out. Same to you there congress. Lead by example.

Wouldn’t last a day.
