Bill Kristol (the one from The Weekly Standard), is calling for RNC Chairman Michael Steele to resign after making horrendously idiotic comments about the war in Afghanistan. Ill take it a step further: He should retire from politics altogether.
His comments on Afghanistan were a cornucopia of stupidity. Lets take this point-by-point. First, he said that the war in Afghanistan is a war of Obamas choosing, employing the rhetoric Democrats used against Bush, except this has no validity whatsoever at all. Every middle school student knows that the war in Afghanistan was going on long before Obama came into office. And using this false line of attack helps reinforce the perception being pushed by the anti-war crowd that we are choosing to be in Afghanistan, rather than being required to stay there out of necessity.
Oh, but it gets worse.
Steele then said that Obama should know that ground campaigns dont work in Afghanistan. Apparently, Steele doesnt see the difference between the Soviet invasion and ours, and forgets that the same rhetoric was used against the war in Iraq.

Agreed,agreed,agreed.
You just know that he did.
****Steele is a good man, leave him alone****
I believe that is the general consensus..to leave him alone, out there by himself, without support.
This is truly disappointing - Michael Steele has such a great life story and - bucking the usual stereotypes, brought so much potential to the GOP.
The *chicken/egg* question as always- which came first - did he leave us - or did we leave him?
The gasbag’s gotta go.
Best to take him out sooner rather than later. He should have resigned back in March.
how about no more donations to the RNC until they put Steele on minimum wage?
Afghanistan is America's war, not obama’s war
and it is a war of the islamofascism's choosing, not obama’s choosing, or America's choosing
Looks like the Stupid Party has found their hill to commit suicide on when it was looking so good for this fall.
We won the war in Afghanistan. We routed the Taliban. It should be over now.
But anyway.
Lots of people pee their pants over the thought of some muzzie with a knife on an airplane and think the Afghanistan nation building is proecting them.
You want to fix the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Do these things:
make and enforce sensible immigration laws
repeal every federal gun law
tell people the government can’t keep you safe and you’re on your own so prepare for muzzies.
It’s interesting that so many are focused on blowing money and American lives in Afghanistan while the debt bomb ticks.
I wonder what the people who pee themselves over the thought of some muzzie with a knife on a plane will do when Ears repudiates the debt.
What will China do? I’m sure they’ll realize we’re America and we can do what we want and they won’t do anything like go to war over it.
Gee, what will those people do if China decides to collect their debt in land and slaves and lands wave after wave on the West coast? I bet they’ll offer the Chinese invaders a beer at the news that another poppy field was burned in Afghanistan. No more bad people will be able to use that to get high!
Stupid party. Focused on suicide. Ignoring the elephant in the room. Burning the Afgha poppy fields on the deck of the Titanic.
But hey, maybe after you’re taken as a slave to repay the debt, the Chinese will let you have your rights. Sure.
Go ahead and tell me I hate Ameirca firs. I don’t care what you think about me.
Why don’t you call me a misogynist and a racist as well.
Yep. Best thing is to ignore him and not give him any more of a stage than he wrangles for himself—then quietly replace him in January. The RGA and RSCC/RCCC have this November well enough under control.
Anyone who questions the strategy, approach, operations, etc. of a military campaign in Afghanistan that has now lasted longer than both World Wars combined has every reason to do so. The Bush administration deserves no less criticism than the Obama administration on that count, too.
Sooooo...Mr. RINO/AMNESTY Kristol of the Weakly Sub-Standard waits until it is too late to fire Steele to let us know how he feels?
Thanks for nothing, Kristol ;-)
“Steele is toast”
From your lips to God’s ears....
Jesus God-no more affirmative action window-dressing morons-haven’t we learned?
His (Steele's) comments on Afghanistan were a cornucopia of stupidity.Steele is obviously a Democratic plant.
I'm 'SERIES'. One would have to go to college, then Grad School and get a PhD in 'DUMB' to say the things Steele has.

Yep, and Oboma bought the war when he changed Bush's rules of engagement the same way he bought the economy through the stimulus, bank take overs, car take overs, health take overs, and soon an energy take over.
You can't go in and scribble obscenities all over another persons paper and still claim the scribbled obscenities are the other guys fault simply because he was the one who laid the paper on the table.
The GOP heads are even more ignorant and inept for allowing him to stay this long.
He is everywhere when he should STFU....and nowhere when he should be shouting from the rafters....
The Al Bundy of the R party?
Absolutely.
LLS
My Hispanic wife and children call me a racist all the time, with the exception of my 8 YO son. He's the smart one. LOL!
The perjorative of being called a racist has long since grown stale. The main point is Michael Steele has proven himself unfit to serve as the head of the Republican National Committee.
Steele, Boehner, Graham, McCain, etc. all need to be sent back to private life.
Now thats funny right there.I dont care who ya are.And you are spot on.
