Divide the estimated 5000 jobs into the amount of these “new grants” and it does not take an educated idiot, especially one that holds the office of the Presidency, to see the sheer and utter failure of government and government spending of taxpayer dollars. =.=

You can never have enough redistribution.

Except that at some point the redistribution-recipients are going to have more stuff than the redistribution-donors.

Then the redistribution will have to go the other way.

This is the kind of BS your Comcast and DSL and othe ISP taxes go to. Dumbass Democrat hacks take those taxes and spend them to buy votes. No one needs high speed internet. Dial-up is perfectly OK for modest purposes. You can’t blow your welfare money for movie downloads and get dial-up to download it. That’s about it.

“...The projects are part of the $7.2 billion set aside in the Recovery Act for expanding broadband access.

$4.7 billion will be distributed by the Commerce Department in the form of grants and loans, while the Department of Agriculture was slated to hand out $2.5 billion.

Earlier this week the House Appropriations Committee proposed rescinding $602 million in broadband funding to offset the costs of the Defense supplemental spending bill.

Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack said his agency used a points system to consider grant applications that takes into account the cost, potential benefit and technical feasibility of proposed projects.

“Many of these projects are shovel-ready, but over time will also help farmers and ranchers have real-time information on weather and commodity markets to help them make better decisions,” Vilsack said...”

How can I get me a piece of them billions?

Please don't go on about 795m / 5000 deal..There is a LOT of hardware and man hour costs in there.
I don't condone this AT ALL. Government has no business in those communications, the free market does.

But don't make yourselves look like fools..

Where in the Constitution is it written that anyone is guaranteed access to the internet?

Why is a broke government borrowing money to pay for this?

hmm, 1.8 million dollars to provide 42 libraries with internet access. That comes to $43,000 per library. I don’t know how it is possible to cost that much unless they are receiving golden modems. Seems they just need to pay a monthly fee to the ISP and get a $50 router and they should be ready to go. Barry has no clue what things cost anymore. He’s so accustomed to the royal treatment that he overallocates for everything. His attitude towards money reveals most clearly his total lack of experience.

(Mind of a liberal) - High speed internet isn’t a luxury you should have to pay for, IT SHOULD BE FREE BECAUSE ITS A RIGHT!!!
