Charlie Bolden: Stealth Middle East Diplomat? (NASA admin admits Muslim outreach is "foremost" task)
NASA Watch ^ | July 2, 2010

Posted on 07/02/2010 12:22:14 PM PDT by Names Ash Housewares

"Bolden: I am here in the region - its sort of the first anniversary of President Barack Obama's visit to Cairo - and his speech there when he gave what has now become known as Obama's "Cairo Initiative" where he announced that he wanted this to become a new beginning of the relationship between the United States and the Muslim world. When I became the NASA Administrator - before I became the NASA Administrator - he charged me with three things: One was that he wanted me to re-inspire children to want to get into science and math, that he wanted me to expand our international relationships, and third, and perhaps foremost, he wanted me to find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with predominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science, math, and engineering."

Question: Are you in some sort of diplomatic role .. to win hearts and minds?

Bolden: NO NO, not at all. Its not a diplomatic anything. What it is - is that it is trying to expand our outreach so that we get more people who can contribute to the things that we do - the international Space Station is as great as it is because we have a conglomerate of about 15 plus nations who have contributed something to that partnership that has made it what it is today ..."

Obama is at WAR with American dominance and exceptionalism.

How the hell does this conform with NASA’s charter? Nowhere in the charter do I see this as one of the aims, goals, and directives of the Agency.

Save the touchy-feely crap for the State Department.

Simple... NASA needs to teach Muslims how to build rockets and other useful things like that. Naturally, they will use those for peaceful purposes.

OK, if a Muslim was on the space station and zinging around the earth at 25,000 mph how would they manage to keep facing Mecca while they do their 5 times a day prayers?

NASA has just become another moribund federal bureaucracy.

Barry-O needs Charlie out of town so the real NASA Administrator, Lori Garver, can complete the transformation.

Dan Goldin wanted to do away with "pale, stale, and male" at NASA.

Congrats, Dan. You won. Take a victory lap.

First thing that came to mind is their major contribution to mathematics: the ZERO! So ironic, don’t you think?? ROTFL

Obama thinks everyone should be entitled to solid-rocket ICBM technology. After all, being American isn’t a blood thing, or where you are born.

We’re all Americans - even the ones that are trying to behead us.

If we can put a Muslim in space, why can’t we put them all there ?

Total cost of the ISS so far: $115 billion.

The amount of that paid by the United States: $100 billion.

It's OUR space station. Period.

This saddens me. Charlie was in my company at The Basic School at Quantico in 1968. What a sell-out. You should have stayed retired, Charlie. You’re embarrassing yourself and the rest of the Corps.

Yup, you just have to think of Rats in terms of being evil and their every action becomes simple to explain. And when you look at what they do, you realize they're really not that smart.

I don't think so. I think he really believed he was answering the call to public service (remember, his name was sent to congress to be NASA Deputy Administrator by W but it was rejected because he was still on active duty at the time).

Unfortunately he's been isolated by Garver who is just a dem political hack along with her trained yap poodle Alan Ladwig. Nobody can see Bolden without going through Garver first. They've managed to cheapen the astronaut corps by turning them against each other and are well on their way to ending the U.S. space program in favor of junk science and happy talk with a backwards culture that can't even produce a toaster.

engage much more with predominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science, math, and engineering."

What that means is, find some centuries old advancement in math or science claimed by Muslims (though they might have stolen it from the Hindus or other cultures they overran), and then pretend that everything accomplished in the USA and in Western nations since can be attributed that same centuries old advance claimed by Muslims. And, therefore, for everything we Westerners enjoy that is the result of advances in math and science, we owe eternal credit and thanks to the Muslims for it all. They deserve credit for it all.

Just SOP for revisionist, multi-culti, diverse and inclusive history to make the Third Worlders feel good.
