Gerald Walpin, whose lawsuit to win back his job as inspector general overseeing the Americorps program was dismissed two weeks ago, has filed an appeal in the case.

As much as I would dearly love to see Mr. Walpin get his IG job back, I don't think it's going to happen based on the current facts in the case and the IG law.
The judge's ruling for the dismissal is clear and logical. The law unfortunately doesn't provide for the reinstatement of a wronged IG. It's up to Congress to hold the President accountable, and they simply aren't doing their job. If the President was a Republican the Democrats would have articles of impeachment drawn up already for this.

I’m afraid you’re probably right about this but I have the feeling the job itself isn’t that important to Mr. Walpin. I believe he wants to keep this incident in front of the voters as long as he can.
