The idea presented by Tom Woods is brilliant.

Jury nullification is the refusal of a jury to enter the verdict that an unjust law demands. Tom Woods seeks to inform us that this is the definitive remedy - just do not enforce unjust laws.

Brilliant. I am going to get the book. “Nullification”

Yes, it is ultimately court and legal system dependent, but it is deeper than simply jury nullification. It is STATE NULLIFICATION of unjust and unconstitutional FEDERAL LAW. Nullification is the simple idea of the "lesser magistrate" (to quote Calvin) simply rebels and refuses to submit to the dictates of a tyrant. We have the principle in jury nullification, but the principle is also as American as apple pie in the idea of STATE nullification.

We have this going on now, for example. Did you know it is FEDERAL LAW that we have a national ID card? It is. The reason it is not enforced is......(drumroll) THE STATES ARE REFUSING TO ENFORCE IT OR COOPERATE! The same with Montana, Tennessee, Utah, and several other states who have passed resolutions refusing to cooperate with the ATF re: aspects of firearms legislation. The same with Arizona and the immigration situation. The same with "medical marijuana" (the FED has NO authority to create and enforce such statutes as are on the books.... and btw, I don't smoke pot). The same with the remarks upstream re: Obamacare "federalizing" state legislatures to enforce universal healthcare. There are many examples of state nullification GOING ON NOW.

Do not kid yourself. DC fears this mentality more than ANY cultural movement going on, and it is a fear that runs through BOTH parties, although the Dems are more egregious in some areas. If this really took hold, it would transform the entire cultural structure of the USA, which has been drifting towards collectivism for decades, but has recently turned that drift into a full steam ahead sprint.

Please DO buy the book. Buy two or three of them and give some to friends. I have no financial or other interest in this, btw. I am simply a patriot who would like my country back.

Another point, though,

is that we, and conservatives in general, especially those seeking political office

need to call these leftists on their NON-arguments.

Just simply say “throwing out an inflammatory term is not an argument, and if you continue to do so, you’re simply demonstrating that you have no substantive oppositional argument to my premises.”
