Boehner escalates White House spat, says president is 'whining'
The Washington Times ^ | July 1, 2010 | Sean Lengell

An ongoing tit for tat between the White House and a top Republican amped up Thursday, with House Minority Leader John A. Boehner accusing the president of "whining" instead of solving problems, such as the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.

"For someone who asked to be held to a higher standard, President Obama spends an awful lot of time making excuses and whining about others," said Mr. Boehner in his weekly briefing with reporters. "The American people want leadership from this White House and not childish partisanship."

Mr. Boehner's comments comes as other Democrats joined Mr. Obama in criticizing GOP opposition to a sweeping financial-reform bill, specifically targeting the Ohio Republican who recently said the overhaul was so overreaching that it was "like killing an ant with a nuclear weapon."

Democrats accused the Republican leader of downplaying the nation's economic crisis caused by the near collapse of Wall Street in 2008.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Thursday said the nation's financial woes "is a situation that some have called an 'ant' - an ant, A-N-T, ant - and would you call an ant the loss of 8 1/2 million jobs, the loss of $17 trillion of household wealth for the American people and a very major recession for our economy?"

Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine also chimed in Thursday, accusing House Republican leadership of "minimizing the financial crisis that harmed millions of Americans by comparing it to the size of an 'ant.'

Obama is constantly whining and in campaign mode, being presidential is foreign to him.

If Obama quit whining, he would not do anything.

This is a rare example of effective strategy by the GOP. Tell the average gumchewing, vidoegame playing American that obama is adept at shifting blame and avoiding responsibility, you will get a blank stare in return, followed by a burp and a shrug.

Tell him the dam president is a whining childish (blank) and you will achieve contact. Americans understand whining, usually because they have put up with so much of it from their own spoiled children.

I missed that! I have heard his middle finger found his brow again during his rant up there in Racine. Do you have a link to a video? I would like to see it.

as Doc Savage said if this president is unable to defend our borders then he should be impeached (him stating today that we/he can’t seal/defend our borders)

I saw that, too.

He did it to Hillary, He did it to McCain, and then he did it to some pol who had been a Hillary supporter.

Now we've got four of them...which would make a good youtube.

Oh yeah...it's near collapse!..ill grant that!..but Who ACTUALLY let the Dogs loose....

progress is good..but over-anything in the liberal perspective of more is better, over time, will make reality strike ya like a hot sword....over-spending, eating, screwing, drinking, etc....(feel free to add to the list)

History will repeat..short term or long term....its the nature of the beast

Very good point, people do understand whiners and Zer0 is one of the first order. I believe that’s why many who voted for him are off his wagon now, hope it spreads to the masses.

His bird-shooting always happens just as he's mentioning his opponent.

And I don't see him scratching any other time, though I admit I try to avoid watching him.

We now have enough of these that his "plausible deniability" should be shot. I think there are a total of four of these.

Sometimes it's scary just how silly and childish this man is, and how his handlers don't even know to stop him from doing this. One more gesture...c'mon, Barry...just do it one more time and we've such a campaign video like you've never seen...
