White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said that the Senate could pass comprehensive immigration reform legislation if Republicans would cooperate.
Gibbs made his comments after President Barack Obama delivered a speech on the need for immigration reform in Washington, D.C., earlier in the day. Gibbs responded to a question about the timeline for a bill to be considered.
"I think where there is a will, there is a way," he said at his daily press briefing. "If there is a will among Democrats and Republicans, specifically Republicans, then there is a way."

The list, ping
What he’s really saying is:’We don’t have the votes to pass this steaming pile, so we’ll just blames the Republicans for it’s failure.’
So how many times are we going to fall for this?
Obowma wants open borders and probably wants open citizenship so he can qualify too.
What heâs really saying is:âWe donât have the votes to pass this steaming pile, so weâll just blame the Republicans for itâs failure.â
Had to correct the verbage.
Fox even took the bait, line and sinker. IDIOTS.
Fox did not stop to say that the obvious.
Gibbs can hang it in his ear.
I don’t know what the heck happened to my second post. Apologies, everyone.
I’ve never done this on FR before, but.. ALL OF THE ABOVE comments. Ditto. Concur. Agreed.
Beauuuutiful, hun.
Reagan got scammed too!
By a Democrat congress who made promises that were never kept.
Can we frame that quote and have it posted in front of every polling booth in November?
The Obama gang has to be the most transparent in anyone's memory, that is the most transparently obvious and absurd in their attempt to pre-blame the GOP for not passing something 70% or more of American citizens don't want.
Let's just hope not many weak kneed Republicans are spooked by this ploy, and that they don't fall for it. But how many of them ever realized how much the year-after-year Bush/Rove amnesty push damaged the party between 2004 and 2008? They need to stand strong against amnesty and do what 70% of citizens want.
Not if the newly legal immigrants vote for Democrats in the upcoming elections.
I spoke too soon. Fox makes mistakes here and there but I wouldn’t call them “idiots”. They’re fighting for the very existence of America by reporting the truth, and they’re all we have. Don’t bite the hand that feeds you truth.
The GOP does not want to be the party of Illegal Alien Amnesty. As much as liberal elements of the party, driven by Hispanic Hate Groups like La Raza, MEChA, and others....the GOP rank-and-file know it is political suicide to support any form of Illegal Alien Amnesty.
10,000,000 newly-minted Democratic voters. Gibbs wants to keep working in DC past 2012.
LMAO!!! Can I snatch that for my tagline?
