FNC Exclusive: Former DOJ Attorney Discusses New Black Panther Party Voter Intimidation Case
Fox News ^ | 30 June 2010 | MEGYN KELLY

Posted on 06/30/2010 12:01:37 PM PDT by SkyPilot

J. CHRISTIAN ADAMS, FORMER JUSTIC DEPARTMENT LAWYER: Well, people were standing in front of the polls with weapons in Philadelphia on the day that President Obama was elected in 2008. The Justice Department brought a case in January under the voter intimidation statutes against the New Black Panther Party, the individuals who organized the deployment and the folks with the weapons in Philadelphia at the polls.

MEGYN KELLY, "AMERICA LIVE" HOST: Ok, and so the guy we see banging the baton, he was one defendant. The guy next to him who was said to have been saying intimidating things, he was a defendant. The New Black Panther Party was a defendant and the head of it was a defendant.

ADAMS: That’s right, all four.

KELLY: Ok, and what was basically the heart of the case against them.

ADAMS: Yeah, this 1965 Voting Rights Act protects voters from voter intimidation. You’re supposed to be able to go vote without somebody with a weapon shouting racial slurs at you like these folks were doing in Philadelphia.

KELLY: What were they saying?

ADAMS: Well, they said, “You’re about to be ruled by the black man, Cracker”. They called people “white devils”. They menaced, they tapped their baton. They tried to stop people from entering the polls.

KELLY: Is there any question in your mind that that violates the law.

ADAMS: No, nor anybody that worked on the case. It’s the easiest case I ever had at the Justice Department. It doesn’t get any easier than this. If this doesn’t constitute voter intimidation, nothing will.

KELLY: And you had, you had not just that video tape, which we’ve all now seen, but you had witness testimony from some credible witnesses who were there.

If people like that showed up where I vote (highly unlikely) I wonder how I would have reacted.

I like to think I’d just say “EXCUSE ME I’m trying to get in and vote!”

i had no doubt there was deep and dirty corruption in this case, but after reading this chills go down my spine.

To all you Liberal nutjobs reading this....how much more evidence do you need that the Usurper needs to be IMPEACHED for crimes? WHY is Fox the only organzation with the integrity to investigate this? Have you asked questions about this, or the Walpin firing case, or the Blago corruption case, or the Sestak bribery case.....CLEARCUT evidence and grounds for impeachment.

ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, ...what say you? Is there any OUNCE of journalistic cred left in your frail liberal bodies, so consumed with liberal passion that you forget what it is to be an objective journalist? Stop stupid factchecking Palin’s speeches and get to work researching matters that are relevant to the safety of Americans!

“I like to think I’d just say “EXCUSE ME I’m trying to get in and vote!”

Yeah, I’d like to think that too, but I think I would have ended up saying “someone call 911” because one of us would need a lot of medical help...not saying who, you never know how it would turn out, but aholes like this don’t intimidate me.

I share your outrage over this... sometimes it’s hard to believe we still live in America

Here’s a related article that has my blood boiling. I cannot believe they can get away with this either:

From the conference mentioned above: “With the rise of the Tea Party, the white-right and other racist forces. With gun sales nationwide at an all time high amongst whites, with a mood that is more anti-Black than any time recent, it is imperative that we organize our forces, pool our resources and prepare for war!” Chairman Malik Zulu Shabazz, Esq. Convention Convener and Party Chairman.

Sounds like this is highly likely to become commonplace if the DOJ now has a policy to not pursue voter intimidation if it is being done by blacks to whites. They would seem to have a blank check for this type of behavior.

Justices only defense was that Adam’s is a Conservative!!! What BS this is.

Does this administration do anything but lie, deceive, threaten, bribe and work to destroy anyone who exposes them while working overtime to destroy the nation? Rhetorical question I know...

I've been trying to find more info on Loretta King from the Civil Rights Division of the DOJ, ie., who she is, where does she come from, how long she's been with DOJ, etc?

She's apparently been a member of CRD for a while, as she was involved in the Johnson vs. Miller (Zell), which was a redistricting case brought to court by white voters in Georgia's 11th Congressional District. King and the DOJ lost that case in 1995. The Supreme Court and federal district court "criticized the DOJ's handling of the case, finding its practices 'disturbing.' ” "The district court found the 'considerable influence of ACLU advocacy on the voting rights decisions of the United States Attorney General' to be 'an embarrassment.' ” Taxpayers ended up paying $587,000 in "attorneys’ fees and costs that were awarded to the defendants to compensate them for an unwarranted lawsuit, one in which King and the other Justice Department lawyers 'commanded' the state of Georgia, as the Supreme Court noted, to engage in 'presumptively unconstitutional race-based districting.' ”

She also overruled the voters of Kinston, N.C. who voted overwhelmingly to have party affiliations removed from ballots last year. Next was her involvement in the dismissal of the case against the Black Panthers. She seems to have gone missing during the Bush years. Somebody at DOJ must have kept her under control during that time. Now that her party is back in control of the White House, and Holder's back at DOJ, she's out doing her racist best. Does anyone have anything else on her?

Blatant racism which is obviously coming directly from the WH. I would stay well away from Philadelphia, pandy. If any place is going to blow up that’s it.

Two words for the kind of lawlessness the DOJ & Obama are setting up: Open season

Those two words can be distilled into one; anarchy. 0baMao is destroying the rule of law. This is far from the only area he has done so too.
