Ha! The future is not here, it’s LATE! We were promised flying cars, a lunar base, and big wheel-shaped space stations.

Also robots to do household chores (Roomba does not count), a transatlantic tunnel, and more.

1950’s Pop Mechanics, Pop Sci, and others were full of such predictions, especially around the International Geophysical Year (until we got knocked down like a bowling pin by Sputnik, but that’s a separate story).
