Will the vaccinated infect the unvaccinated? That is the question with Whooping cough

PhotobucketA major media campaign is in force for adults to get the Pertussis vaccination. The commercial just pulls at your heart strings to make you just jump up and want to get vaccinated today. Isn't that what commercials are meant to do? It is like all the commercials for toys around Christmas time. They want mom and dad to go out and buy their toy for little Johnny or Janie.

Look at the advertizing campaign that Merck put out for Gardasil. That was the most successful campaign I have ever seen. You have millions of girls and young women going out and getting the HPV vaccinations. What they do not tell you is that you have a potentially high risk of having a "New Medical Condition" after vaccination. Interesting how they left that fact out of the commercials. I wonder why. NOT

Before I continue I want to tell you about a fact that is known by the CDC, etc. That is called vaccine shedding. (13, 14) This is the transmission of the virus from a vaccinated person to an unvaccinated person. The CDC is referencing "live influenza viruses." Here is the excerpt: Because LAIV (live, attenuated influenza vaccine) contains live influenza viruses, a potential exists for transmission of these viruses from vaccinees to other persons. Vaccinated immunocompetent children can shed vaccine viruses for <3 weeks. (10)

I want you to understand that this is true for vaccines (15, 16, 17, 18) including the Whooping Cough. What you could have happen is that all these parents and child care workers are going to get the vaccine and then take care of children. They will change their dirty diapers and be in close contact with the children that they are trying to protect. When in essence, they are passing the disease to the young children and infants in their care for approximately 3 weeks. (10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15) This could mean that when a mother kisses, hugs and touches her beautiful baby she could be passing the virus. The same goes for the day care givers of these children. The vaccinated have the potential to infect the unvaccinated child. This could cause the next epidemic of disease like what happened with the small pox epidemic.

I’m surprised that daycare workers aren’t required to be vaccinated as a part of the licensing process.

Whooping cough vaccines have been in use since the 1930’s.

If we don’t know the answer by now, we’re getting screwed.

Herd immunity works to a certain extent. However, there is a risk for the vaccinated from the unvaccinated, because no vaccine is always, everywhere 100% effective. So, even if you are responsible and have your children vaccinated, they might still be infected by an unvaccinated child whose parents are not responsible and have fallen for the anti-vaccine propaganda promulgated by quack doctors and idiot celebrities.

One is safer being an unvaccinated person in a herd of vaccinated people than one is being a vaccinated person in a herd of unvaccinated people. Ironic, isn’t it?

When a large epidemic of pertussis hits, people will be lining up to have their children vaccinated. Too bad it will have to go that far before people realize they are being foolish.

Exactly.

And we have the luxury of indulging ourselves in stupid conspiracy theories because the medical system in this country has done such a good job of controlling epidemics.

I am old enough to remember the general thanksgiving and relief when the polio vaccines came in. My high school best friend's dad unfortunately contracted polio before either vaccine was available -- he was on crutches or in a wheelchair for the next 60 years.

What a load of cr*p.
Our kids were all vaccinated as babies, but I was very hesitant at the time I remember. I think when Jesus left His Body on earth (via the Last Supper), He also left ample healers as well (not that God didn't have them in place prior). I would like to see more emphasis (and time) placed on discovering these healers. I truly believe they are out there!

Pertussis vaccines do not confer lifetime immunity. It is the unvaccinated parents and caregivers that are the problem.

The problem with most of the childhood vaccines is that adults need boosters and most of us simply don't know that. We get them all when we're kids and we think that we're fine for life.

Years ago our (then) family doctor gave me a bit of advice: Vaccinate against all the "bad" stuff (measles, mumps, polio, whopping cough, etc), don't vaccinate against the minor stuff (chicken pox in children and the flu vaccine unless there is an additional medical reason for doing so) and *never* take a vaccine or medicine that's brand new. Side effects sometimes aren't evident until it's been released into the general population for several years.

We've followed this advice for almost two decades and managed to avoid several potential problems. It's reassuring to start hearing about the lawsuits and horrors from a medicine or vaccine that a doctor has recommended for you, and to know that you're not in that camp.

I think simply building a wall would solve 60% of America’s health care woes, then, we educate Americans as to what their diet is really doing to them (food like substances in grocery stores) and we solve the next 40%, easy to do, that’s why it wont be done.

Good luck with that. You should be thankful that others get vaccinated to protect you.

Did you read the whole post? From the part you chose to quote, it’s quite out of context for the post as a whole.

Being faithful to a good man protects me from HPV thank you.

As I said, We happily vaccinated for MMR, diphtheria, tetanus, polio, etc. ON OUR DOCTOR'S ADVICE, we passed on chicken pox, HPV and the flu... we passed on the flu until it was medically indicated by my son's development of diabetes.

I love how some pass judgment when people follow the dr's advice that they don't like...
