Crap like this is just one more reason why I'm glad I'm in a Byzantine parish. None of this is allowed. No petitions from the congregation. We are too busy WORSHIPING. We don't ask God to bless what we do. We ask that we will be doing what God blesses. Big difference.

I don’t mind petitions in themselves, but I do mind when the church uses them as an opportunity to push political agendas.

Praying fot the troops, the deceased, the sick, etc is fine by me.
