I don’t agree with Christie on the immigration issue. I don’t believe that there is any need to offer citizenship to lawbreakers.

The way to offer them citizenship is to send them back to their own country and let them apply for entry legally.

That would work for me.

Reading the article, he didn't really declare very clearly where he stood on immigration, other than the feds should lead. I think he was quoted as saying he didn't like the idea of a path to citizenship, but not much else was said.

I didn't understand why he would think Obama was an "ally" on taking it to the teacher's unions, that was strange.

The other thing I thought of, was this guy reducing all GOP stands to budgeting? It sounded like the trial balloon sent up by Mitch Daniels to me. The article had less substantial info than I would like, that's for sure. So far I've liked how Christie has handled himself, but if he is going the way of Daniels (surrender on everything else), I'll gladly rethink how I see him.

There is none. None.

I don't know what Christie said, but where is this "reform" thing coming from? Some secret agenda of NAFTA?

There are immigration laws now. Why the compulsion to give special privileges to invaders, mostly from south of the border? In an orderly, civil, internationally recognized manner one goes to the local consulate and applies for visa/immigration to the nation of choice, temporary, permanent, or whatever.

Special privileges like such only serve to deprecate international law and order, a "liberal" affliction like in so many other areas - manipulate the law selectively to satisfy your own greed and desires. Throw on top of that the cesspool that Mexico has become, indicator of a self-awareness, self-discipline flaw, governmentally or socially, that only exacerbates the bigotry of the entire issue, and we have the recipe for disaster that lack of integrity always brings. It's like Toad Hall, giving juveniles the run of the mansion.

If the United States is to get its act together, environmentally, energetically, educationally, infrastructure-wise, then "it" needs to be circumspect about the resources available, and the limits of distribution, rather than give in to the greed of Wall Street globalists, Lobbyists, and self-serving, power-hungry Politicians. The US fought and triumphed on two global fronts in WWII with 187 million committed citizens. Now there are 300 million. Let us consider our future beyond the egomania of greed (Bloomberg et.al.).

“This is a federal problem, it’s gotta have a federal fix,” he said. “I’m not really comfortable with state law enforcement having a big role.”
I'm not comfortable with state law enforcement needing to exert a big role - but the governor of Arizona judges that she needs enforcement a lot more than the governor of New Jersey thinks he needs it.

Maybe she knows more about conditions in Arizona than he does . . .
