SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The chairman of the Republican National Committee chair Michael Steele pledges big bucks to support Carly Fiorina's senate campaign against Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer.
Steele was in San Francisco Thursday morning, talking about California politics and the money it will take to win in November.
Show me the money, but of course he wouldn't -- to ABC7 anyway. The question is will he show Fiorina the money? The two are scheduled to sit down together on Friday.
Steele told reporters financial help for GOP candidates is coming.
"We're going to be in play here, big time in California, big time," said Steele.
Just what "big time" means he wouldn't say, except it'll be significant.
When asked if he could put a dollar figure on what he meant by significant, he said, "A lot. A lot. No, we're going to be here, we have a lot of opportunity guys to work hard, we've got great candidates in Carly and certainly Meg," said Steele.

Carly is still much better than Boxer. At this point in time, after the primaries, we should be supporting Fiorina. This is not the time to be beating up our candidates and calling them RINOs. After the primaries, we have to support everyone in the Republican party.
Fiorina can’t help but be an improvement over Boxer, seriously.
I am mildly excited. To take a California Senate seat is a pretty good coup.
Yes, I know Fiorina’s not Reagan. But she’s not Boxer, either.
So Steele will send big bucks to candidates who already have big bucks. Freep the RNC, they should be sending big bucks to Marco Rubio who is in a dogfight with Charlie Trader Crist, Sharon Angle, Michael Lee, etc.
Michael Steele can support them but if they can’t self finance in the general why do it in the primary.
The democrat operatives are hitting this site hard and pinning the RINO label on a lot of our candidates.
Agreed about Carly...especially over Boxer, I’ll rather take what I can get in this instant in CA.

Oh, and for the record: Carly was already publicly labeled a RINO here during the primaries.
Did you hear? The primary election is over and a retread hippie named Brown will be on the ballot.

A reminder of the obvious. Fiorina is not our candidate. She's their's. Vote for a liberal. Elect a liberal.
Carly is no RINO. I’m getting tired of you single toothed types calling RINO where it’s not because it’s all you can spell. Drop that extra chromosome and come aboard the Tea Party Express.
This is exactly why I REFUSE to support the RNC ever again.
If the other choice is Jerry Brown, I hope Fiorina wins....but not to the extent that I want to donate to her campaign.
Now, If Fiorina wants to win, and then evolve into a conservative, I’ll contribute to her directly.
No more RNC for me...makes more sense to donate directly to Conservative candidates.
