Is it even remotely possible that we do not understand Genesis as well as we think we do?

After all, it deals with some very complex issues that were unknown to the ancient men and had to be communicated through those men.

If they’d understood physics and biology better they might have written it differently. But they didn’t.

(Shrugs). As I said — I respect, though disagree with, Old-Earth Creationists. But I’m not going to be offended if Rand Paul refuses to repudiate my own beliefs, y’know?

I count 8 times in Genesis 1 where the words “after their kind” were used. That’s not an accident. Ancient man understood that phrase, as do we, even with differing levels of understanding of biology.
