An eclectic mix of stars The Stanley Cup with Blackhawks defenseman Brent Sopel, The Cubs Ernie Banks and country singer Chely Wright basked in the celebration of an estimated 400,000 who attended the 41st Annual Pride Parade in the Lakeview neighborhood. The parade started at noon.
Wright, who recently came out as a lesbian, is the parades Grand Marshal. Wright said her decision to publicly declare her sexual orientation has been a dynamic experience.
Sopel, who stood on the float of the Chicago Gay Hockey Association, said he participated in the parade to honor the memory of the gay son of his former general manager.
Brendan Burke had come out as a gay man when he was 21 and working for the hockey team at Miami University of Ohio. He was killed in February in a car accident on a snowy and icy road in Indiana. Burke is the son of Brian Burke, the general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the U.S. mens Olympic hockey team. The elder Burke was Sopels general manager while he played with the Vancouver Canucks.

I have been a die-hard St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan since 1967.
I just e-mailed him the t-shirt pic you posted.
Ok, you win. My head just exploded.
Gay pride means being proud that you practice one of the rarest, most sacred, most precious activities ever to be witnessed on the face of the earth. Although a wee bit unhealthy.
Heteros are boring, something to be ashamed of. What did they ever accomplish?

Ernie Banks?????? Say it aint so Ernie!
Great shirt! I’m a diehard Sox fan, my wife is a cubbies fan. Where can I get one of those?
Sheesh. The word is P A R T I C P A T E. Not partake, which means, to eat or consume. Participate means to take part in, or be included in.
On second thought...I see this is a Gay Hockey parade. (What the HELL is “gay hockey???”)
I found it by searching Google Images for “White Sox vs Cubs pride”. A fellow Sox fan coworker gave me a poster with the same sentiment, which is what I was searching for, but came across the tee shirt instead.
Shucks, you see that on every street corner around Wrigley Field, and not just when the Gay Pride parade passes by.
Looks like his son....no biggie. Now, I have my issues with Ozzie....but him being gay isn’t one of them. ;)
I think that there might be a little “digital enhancement” going on there (and yes, it is his son).
Thanks MamaLucci.
Declaring my love of men has been a dynamic experience.
