Palin is just wonderful as a political pundit, but she is dogged by the question of where her relationship with McCain ends up. I hope she has long shed her “special relationship” with him by the time serious discussions come up about GOP presidential candidates for 2012. Once she’s returned the favor of campaigning for him this year, she should leave well enough alone, part with him as friends, but most definitely part.

I could care less if she feels grateful to McCain for launching her into the National spotlight. She openly admitted (during the campaign!) that she and he don't see eye-to-eye on everything, and vowed that she'd bring him around to her way of thinking.

This was her diplomatic way of saying that she would not be moved into his ideological camp. Whether she feels a debt of gratitude to him for launching her political starship or not, she's the person I want in the Oval Office come February 2013.

Her vision of America, its past, the solution to its current problems, and its future (and the ways to get us there) all match mine precisely.

Period.
