PENSACOLA BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Hundreds of people including Florida's governor joined hands on an oil-stained strip of beach in the Florida Panhandle as part of an international demonstration against offshore drilling Saturday.
Organizers of "Hands Across the Sand" said similar protests were held at beaches around the nation and in several foreign countries.

I’ll find them more credible, when they’re protesting offshore drilling in China and Cuba.
Yes...they all walked to the beach after being dropped off by a fleet of buses, each bus bearing that infernal logo that looks like the red, white, and blue is flowing down a hole...
Yea well their “Hands” should be volunteering to pick up and clean up ...but as always..the enviroweenies love to demonstrate and be on the news but have zip walk to their talk....loosers!
Because he is an elitist and thinks we cannot exist without him in charge.
Or are you talking about the other turds with Crist?
Sun tan oil, Charlie. It’s the future.
After depositing their payment for services rendered...
Someone should meet all these people next time with a clipboard in hand taking names and numbers of volunteers to clean up where the oil is....and then check their names off the list if they arrive to do that. And report it to the news...I bet money you’d see a lot less demonstrations if they knew they’d be signed up to clean up.
He would most likely take your statement as a personal looks compliment if you told him that.
I’ll bet this how it went:
Several hundred liberals rose up early, showered using electricity or gas to heat the water, electricity to make their coffee, drove in their gas or diesel using vehicles to the shoreline to do the protest, afterwards they went to a local establishment, had food that was cooked on gas, drove in the gas powered vehicles on asphalt/oiled roads that were made using oil products, and came home and turned on their air conditioners powered by a fossil fueled generator
Oh that sounds so self serving, no way these concerned for the earth miscreants could be so callus. /s
Exactly!
Cubans and Chinese aren't free so they aren't evil like we are.
We must embrace everything they stand for don't you see? /MS
And this proved.....
and aside from leaving people to choke on the layer of SMUG they left behind, they went home to turn on their electric TV and/or computers to look on YouTube or news to see if they were on.
Yes, we have a vessel with a flexible “pipe” with a funnellike device which is placed directly over the “broken” oil pipe. At the moment it is capturing about 80 percent of the “leaking” oil. This oil is then piped into a receiver tanker. This is not acceptable, as some oil is still leaking. The Dutch have a similar vessel that is capable of capturing 99 percent of oil that is direted upward. The Dutch vessel is not available, BECAUSE obama and the unions will not allow it near the oil spill. This interference of our government with this oil spill confuses me. The oil rig is 50 miles from American shores, isn’t that in international waters? Yes, the oil is covering our shores, but had the oil skimmers (of which we have 2,000, but using only 20 in Florida) foreign nations with far superior vessels and equipment could have come in very early on and the damage to our shores would not be what it is today.
Crist and his “hands across the sands” group remind me of children. Why isn’t the “dear” governor asking the president, his friend, WHY the better vessels and equipment are not being used. Why didn’t Gov. Barbar ask that question on national tv, and the Alabama governor? The oil rig is 50 miles off our shores, NOT within the 3 mile limit.
Charlie Crist can convey that he is a whore with a compassionate side.
People like that in general. People who always insist we get rid of the very things that allow us to live such health, prosperous lives.
How many of them do you think drove to get there?
