Thanks for sharing. I see this was written by Harriet Beecher Stowe. She was an unwavering abolitionist. Abraham Lincoln once said to her “So you're the little lady who started this great war!”

I'm glad she wrote this. She was a popular writer who succeeded in preserving some of the history that black Americans bravely contributed to.

“great war” indeed. To replicate such a Civil War today would mean that 6 million Americans would be killed. It was a slaughter.
