RUSTENBURG, South Africa For other countries, a second-round World Cup match is a big step. For the United States, Saturday's game against Ghana is so much more.
The television audience back home could top the U.S. national team record of 13.7 million, set during the 1994 World Cup loss to Brazil.
With a victory, the Americans would advance to a quarterfinal matchup versus Uruguay or South Korea on July 2 and match the farthest the U.S. team has advanced since the first World Cup in 1930. Confidence is soaring.
"If we continue to build on the successes so far, we can go to the end," coach Bob Bradley said Friday.

She’s feeling left out and ignored and is trying to get our attention. I’d like it better if she just lifted up her shirt.
Nate Silver knows nothing about the game. His stats talk is embarrassing.
The US are a decent solid team, but they will be no match for Ghana.
That’s ok, we do our best work after 90 minutes :)
Another soccer annoyance: the “U.S. are...”
and “Ghana are...”
Must be how the Euro weenies refer to
teams because no one in the U.S. does.
Not a fan of soccer but I am a fan of the USA.
GO USA!!!

I have no idea what you mean, nor do I understand why you insult. Maybe you could explain?
The home continent advantage didn’t help the other African teams. It’s winter now, which somewhat negates the advantage.
If this tournament were played in the North of Africa, I could see where the African teams would definitely have more of an advantage in the heat.
Well i´m not shure if this would be a real advantage
for the african teams since most of the players
play in Europe since years. So i guess they are accustomed
to a relative cold european climate too.
But anyway go USA you can win this today!
But it will be a tough fight.
That’s the difference between collective nouns in British English versus American English. It doesn’t bother me.
Tivo the game and “watch” in fast motion. Regular speed when you see something...
It works - :)
It should.
So instead you insult it’s fans?
Frankly I think you have a need for attention. I hope you donate to FR for the privilege.
