Throughout his political career, Obama has consistently declared his view that the Constitution's purposeful restraint of government power is obsolete. ...the White House, he and his faction have signaled their intent to circumvent, undermine or simply set aside the authority of the U.S. Constitution. Both here and in postings on my blog I have repeatedly had occasion to remark upon the design for despotism that has been evident in their actions.
Now "eight Republican senators … are warning that the Obama administration is drafting a plan to 'unilaterally' issue blanket amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants as it struggles to win support in Congress for an overhaul of immigration laws." This represents the decisive step beyond derelict law enforcement. Not content merely to ignore the laws the legislature has properly and constitutionally made, Obama signals the intention to undertake unilateral executive action that alters the clear terms and intention of the established laws, entirely without the constitutionally determined consent of the people. This will be a blatant and presumptuous usurpation of legislative power. This is not just dereliction, it is lawless tyranny. It is outright dictatorship.
Constitutionally exercised, the executive power represents the force of law. Once divorced, however, from constitutional provisions for ascertaining the consent of the people, it asserts instead the law of force, the unjust rule that might makes right. In effect, just laws fall silent, and all that speaks are the government's instruments of force and intimidation, imposing rules that have no more warrant of lawfulness than the command of a terrorist over those he holds, by threat of violence, hostage to his will. The forces under the authority of the presidency become in that case a weapon, loaded and cocked, held to the head of the American people.

If incumbents are not driven out in numbers, its really all over for America. After what they ahve pulled in the past year, not getting their fingeres rapped severely will show them the American public has lost all interest in, or conern for, Freedom, America and their Constitutional Rights.
The way to stop him is to go out and campaign now for anyone challenging an incumbent Congressman unless they are one of the few who stood up to him.
People have lots and lots of pressure points. The manufactured chaos that BO is fomenting, just makes things worse. People with fewer options become more pliable - for instance, that HR wonk collecting data on you wants to keep her job, so she does what she's told. You need to pay your mortgage, so you do as she asks, and so on. In a roaring economy (think 1999) you'd tell a nosy employer to "go fish". Now? Not as likely, I think.
When nobody has nothing the federal government is going to fall apart ...yep, the problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money to spend.
big it can get before it collapses under its own weight ....yep. Collapse would be unimaginably bad, I think, all apocalyptic fantasies aside. I wonder if this country has the guts to put together the austerity program that's needed.

Okay. But I was only asking an honest question, not actually having read any formal charges against the general. I know insubordination is usually loosely interpreted by most, by it's actually a narrowly-defined charge and may not apply in this case. Just wondering. Not questioning your sincerity.

I would vote for him in a heartbeat. The Left, as well as some on the right, have attacked him with almost as much hatred and animosity as they do Sarah Palin because Alan Keyes is a gifted communicator. He is concise, has great insight, and isn’t afraid to say it like it is.
He is the kind of politician a Communist regime would murder shortly after taking power.
I would bet heavily against it. Oh sure, some small percentage would carry out such orders but they will be distracted by having to fight those troops opposed to killing American civilians.

The people of Cuba almost universally said nearly the same thing about Fidel as he descended in triumph out of the Sierra Madre and rode his jeep through the cheering throngs of grateful Cubans in the streets of Havana.
In other words, he's not quite fully in charge, yet, but all the indications are there...
Indeed, and what is startling is that there are those on the left who are cheering Obama on to "act like a dictator" - Ed Shultz, MSNBC.
American Idol, the Bachelor, dancing with the Stars are ridiculous! You must watch them. When death care passed and there was barely a whimper, that was his pass to go full steam ahead. Have fun. enjoy your dictator. Have fun paying all the taxes to support the lazy asses. I choose not to. I’ll be living it up, reading, fishing, diving and I am not paying any damn taxes to support the dictator in chief. I’m out of here. Have fun, drop me a note and let me know who wins American Idol. Not that it will matter since I have no clue who has ever been in the running.
