Note that he is NOT wearing a respirator. My son is out in the Gulf as we speak taking Air Quality samples every ten minutes. He said it stinks but as far as hazardous vapors, so far NADA!

I'm here on the coast and don't have one. I'm beginning to think maybe I should have one available. So am I. My son is a third party Industrial Hygienist. He is out there taking air samples every ten minutes. If something bad comes up, I'll sound the alarm loud and clear here on FR.
I don't have a respirator and do not plan on getting one.

Thanks for the report NN. I shake just thinking what will happen if we get a hurricane(s) in the Gulf.
This is a nightmare.

"My son is out in the Gulf as we speak taking Air Quality samples every ten minutes. He said it stinks but as far as hazardous vapors, so far NADA!" Analytical Chemist curiosity. Do you know which vapors and what equipment he is using?? I used to develop air monitoring instrumentation, so wonder what the current "state of the art" is these days.

You know what makes me the sickest? Being POTUS is a 24 hour job, and obviously one of the most stressful jobs on the planet. But it’s a job you ask for, not one that’s thrust upon you.
And it’s only required for 4 years...4 years, that’s less time than I’ve been at my current employer.
You have the rest of your life to enjoy the perks of being a President, so for the 4 years you’re elected to the office that YOU wanted, get off the ***ing golf course and do your damn job.
More of shame that it’s only taken 18 months to dismantle this country almost beyond repair.
Obama is a POS. I used to say have respect for the office, but he has none for it so therefore, FUBO!

He is using a MultiRAE Plus. He is monitoring for SO2, H2S, O2, LEL and Total VOCs.
Here is his meter.

Remember the old signs that read Flush Twice, Key West needs the Water? If the aquifers are destroyed - flushing twice won't be enough to help Key West - or the rest of us... Thank God we're not in a drought... that would seal it.

"He is using a MultiRAE Plus. He is monitoring for SO2, H2S, O2, LEL and Total VOCs." Nice. The SOTA has moved forward a lot since I was involved. Not so much with the actual sensors, but the electronics and multiplexing has added a whole new capability.

Good question. Unlikely but possible. It wouldn’t be unlivable. Water lines would have to be run from other states.,

That just makes him a fool. How many that worked on the Exon Valdez cleanup are still alive? Name them.

Rumors, I doubt it’s true. Why would they evacuate Tampa when it’s MUCH closer to LA, the panhandle, etc.?
