WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords is criticizing two federal agencies for canceling conventions that had been scheduled for Arizona. The agencies apparently took this action to protest the state’s new immigration law.
The U.S. Department of Education recently canceled an October convention set for a Tucson resort. The U.S. Border Patrol also canceled plans for a conference last month at a Prescott resort.
In other boycott developments:
• A group of California lawmakers is urging the state to boycott Arizona over its controversial immigration law. Sen. Gil Cedillo’s resolution calls on the state to issue a travel advisory, cease state investments in Arizona and urge Major League Baseball to reconsider having Arizona host the 2011 All-Star Game.
• Los Angeles has made an exemption to its economic boycott of Arizona over the state’s new immigration law. The City Council on Wednesday voted to extend a contract with Scottsdale, Ariz.-based American Traffic Solutions, which operates red-light cameras at 32 Los Angeles intersections.
• The Chula Vista, Calif., City Council approved a resolution Tuesday night protesting the Arizona law.
And what is her position on the AZ immigration law?
I can’t wait for July 29. Unless the FED GOV gets an injunction, the illegals will be in full panic mode to get out of AZ.
The beater pickups and cars piled high with all their junk will be easy to spot. I hope they head west and not east.
As usual, Little Miss Sunshine aka Rep. Gabriel Giffords, is attempting to straddle the issue so as not to upset anyone.
However her inept leadership on the Arizona border crisis is one of the many reasons why so many citizens in her district, AZ 8, can’t wait for the chance to vote her out this November.
The democrats here are asking that the federal lawsuit not be filed, even if they are opposed to SB 1070. They are saying that pursuing it will hurt their reelection chances in the fall. You think!!!!!

They’d learn fast if Concreate Barriers were dropped on the border crossings to CA on all lanes of I-8, I-10, & I-40.

In other words she is trying to have it both ways. I sure hope the GOP has a good candidate to take her out this year. This IS the year to do it!
