Chief executives of several major corporations, including Hewlett-Packard, Boeing, Disney and News Corp., are joining Mayor Michael Bloomberg to form a coalition advocating for immigration reform including a path to legal status for all undocumented immigrants now in the United States.
The group includes several other big-city mayors and calls itself the Partnership for a New American Economy. It seeks to reframe immigration reform as the solution to repairing and stimulating the economy.
Bloomberg and Rupert Murdoch, chairman and CEO of News Corp., appeared together Thursday on Fox News to discuss the effort.
"We're just going to keep the pressure on the congressmen," Murdoch said. "I think we can show to the public the benefits of having migrants and the jobs that go with them."
Bloomberg added, "Somebody has to lead and explain to the country why this is in our interest."

“Looks like amnesty and Obama care for illegal aliens is a done deal.”
If it was, there wouldn’t be a need for this organization. The fact that they’re putting this organization together to try to convince the “little people” of the advantages of unfettered immigration speaks volumes.
If you are sitting around a negotiating table wondering who is going to get screwed in this deal, you are too late; it is you.
This organization is a sham and a rubber stamp for Obama’s upcoming nationalization for illegals decree. People need to wake up. The amnesty train has already left the station.
In addition, do not ever go to LA, or San Antonio, and we're going to take care of Phil Gordon here in AZ.
You have far too little faith in your fellow Americans. Your defeatist attitude only empowers the very people who seek to destroy you
Like ObamaCare? Like 700 billion taxpayer dollars to Goldman Sachs? Like government takeover of General Motors? Like unending stimuli for more government employment?
I think exactly the opposite, that the reality is there is not enough collective indignation, or courage, or intelligence, in my fellow Americans to counter the sinister agenda's of the selfish, subversive, but highly subtle elitists.
Nobody's giving up, but we all (beyond Free Republic) damn sight better understand the sides here. And the "Republicans" don't even come close.
Didn't the mere election of Barack Obama, clearly documented as one of the most leftist inexperienced politicians in the nation, indicate how much faith one can put in our fellow Americans?
They know they can hammer feckless complicit Americans into anything they want. It has been done for millenia. They can do it transparently, or they can do it ruthlessly, and there is little fight.
This needs more investigating. I wonder how many Illegals are already working for these big companies?
It’s important to get the word out on who supported Obama’s amnesty decree before it happens in December. But no one will be able to stop The Kenyan if issuing the naturalization decree.
And Bloomberg and these CEO will call Obama “brave” and “showing leadership” for issuing the amnesty decree.
Amnesty and immediate naturalization for illegals is a done deal. Obama is a one-termer and he knows it. No one will be able to stop this.
Supra-nationals and internationalist interlopers = neo fascism. No border$, double-$peak language, eliti$t culture.
20B agreement? Where’s the document?
Exactly. We didn’t stop Obamacare.
We didn’t stop the Wall Street bailouts.
We didn’t stop the nationalization of GM, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
We didn’t stop Obama’s “stimulus” slush fund for unions and government workers and demoncrat donors.
So how will “the people” stop Obama’s upcoming naturalization and amnesty decree?
If they do that it’s going to be very difficult for people who hire them. Nobody will stay at their hotels or resorts, nobody will hire them off the streets for fear of being boycotted by the people. Actually, the people have the last word. They want this recession to go on forever? Then let Obama do this because people will be so fed up they will not spend money, they will give up on a country that ignores their wants. Rich men are only rich as long as people buy their “stuff”. When people stop buying, they stop being rich.
Love the sign. Illegal immigration IS costing us billions. I think that, in AZ, the crime rate, unemployment, spending for schools, emergency response outlays will all go down after the new AZ law goes into effect. When this is realized, it will go viral and be indeligibly written into the national conscience: Illegal immigration is costing us billions.
Illegal immigration is costing us billions.
It really is, but the cost goes far far deeper than just accounting dollars. The cost is the abandonment of the national spirit that would otherwise accrue with an enforced recognition and responsibility of the privilege of being an American.
This is where I totally lost George W. Bush, good guy that he is. Enforcement of immigration (agreeably mutual with other nations, and still welcomed but legally) would, and is a consummate opportunity to, reinvigorate what it means to be an American. Once understanding this, it becomes obvious that amnesty is just blatant liberalism, no responsibility of commitment, no commitment to responsibility, and no conscious appreciation of a privilege. Clearly the sickness of the Left.
Think of George Soros and one will think of a truly depraved person, no country, no commitment, only atonement for his obscene selfishness.
Except for him and a few self aggrandizing corporations, it helps every one, virtually everyone, for there to be ordered, enforced, legal, immigration between countries. Furthermore, and this message goes around the world, why is there any reason to give special privileges to the hispanic masses that have crossed the border illegally as opposed to motivated Hungarians who must do it formally and responsibly? The only answer to that is to insist that all illegals are illegal; to go home and come through the front door, as international order suggests.
All considered there is NO reason whatsoever to accommodate illegal immigrants, except for outright selfishishness, and, in Soros' case, personal Guilt.
Truly sick; leftism.

Illegal immigration does cost billions, but these costs currently are borne largely by states and localities struggling to stay above water (e.g., California). Amnesty shifts a whole lot of this burden onto the federal government since it will make illegals eligible for Obamacare, food stamps, housing assistance etc. My guess is that NYC would save hundreds of millions if not billions by offloading these costs onto the feds.
In short, these advocates for reform hardly are disinterested parties seeking what’s best for either illegals or American citizens: in many cases, they are looking out for their own pocketbooks. And the political advantage to the Democrats of adding millions of new voters to their rolls should be obvious.
The elitists have long sought a republic run by their ilk to replace our constitutional one, and they are almost there.
The pattern they're seeking to duplicate, to overrun the will of the people, is a copy of what happened in the Social War of the late Roman Republic. At its end, Marius and his Senate bestowed citizenship on his non-Roman Italian allies Mexicans and Islamists. Sound familiar? (Only there is no record of the ancient Romans having been betrayed by a Tri-lateral commission that early. The Triumvirates came later.)
It took a Sulla to bring an end to him. But the damage Bush and Obama Marius had done could not be undone. Rule by caesar was coming.
Other than that, FReepers: Have a nice day. :)
“...and Rupert Murdoch, CEO of News Corp., which owns The Wall Street Journal.” And the Fox News Network.
Hey: does Glenn Beck work there?
Still?

History might not repeat, but it sure rhymes a lot.
