*snip*
This morning the President accepted my resignation as Commander of U.S. and NATO Coalition Forces in Afghanistan.
I strongly support the President's strategy in Afghanistan and am deeply committed to our coalition forces, our partner nations, and the Afghan people. It was out of respect for this commitment and a desire to see the mission succeed that I tendered my resignation.

Sorry .. I don’t know.
I suggest that before you makes such statement, you read the Rolling Stone article that this is all about. If you still have this opinon AFTER reading it, then IMO, you need help.
Re: “Sounds a lot like McChrystal planned to commit an equivalent of the suicide by cop and get out of serving under Obama and his ROE, after he became “disappointed” in Obama...
If so, his execution of the plan was flawless.”

I totally agree with your post. 100% right on the money!!!
In my view, both Obammy and this McChrystal are big losers.
Yes, he’s just such a wonderful man.
Like I said before, there’s more to it than breaching OpSec, though that should get him shot.
Want the truth on Yon, go to Blackfive and find it. He had some good stuff, but he’s worn out his welcome with some of the stuff he’s pulled lately.
Remember that ... despicable vermin.
Yes, he will be silent for the troops IMO, he honors the office of POTUS, even if not the current Office Holder. It has been a strained relationship for both of them, but God and Country are deeply instilled.
Obama has more than enough people ready to take him out with the citizenry. Piling on will do no good.
Ho hum. Top Gun is Gay parody. Five articles about the Rolling Stone article. Something about a Congressman being appointed to a comission. This is the hardhitting man-on-the-scene reporting that rivals' Yon's??
If you read the Rolling Stone article you will realize that the Stragety was HIS, and was agreed to by Obama, so in essence, he agrees with his own strategy.
IMO, there are some things more important than Obama.
RE: “......................Personally I dont see how the nation can survive if he serves out his term, never mind reelection.”

Agree — I’ve long said we need him OUT of office before 2012 election.
What must happen, at the least, is to make sure he gets on the stand in Chicago re the Blago mess that’s getting started now. Rahm will be called and most certainly Obammy is involved. Rahm is believed nearly ready to resign and it’s likely over this matter.
Let’s make sure this whole Blago trial doesn’t get passed over due to Afghanistan, the Gulf spill, et al. So many crises; need to keep them ALL on the front burner!
Well, then I am forced to conclude that he is unfit for command...
A man of action and few words.
Do I have to do all the heavy lifting for you?

You couldn’t even look beyond the front page, yet you get all snotty when I point out that Michael Yon has some serious credibility problems?
Please, let us know about these violations of OpSec orders that you reference, that we may see and understand.
See my above post, it has most of the important links. There are others to be had with a little time spent looking if your serious.

Exactly. McChrystal, is responsible for the article tho, trouble goes uphill as well as accountablity. His men were loose cannons and that his how they roll. It is evident that he has problems with Politicians, and policy. Knowing it, and allowing it to be said nationally, put the ball in Obamas court to show who was in charge. Stan knew this, and rather than let this drag out, for the good of the men, morale, and in respect for the office, not the man, but the office, he resigned. At least that IMO.
When blackfive is your only source? No -- no lifting needed.
That only tells me that you have no idea what the policy is, here is the link to the story, educate yourself first.
