John McCain claims he “never supported amnesty” (LIAR!)
Examiner ^ | June 22, 2010 | Dave Gibson

Fox News reporter Jennifer Steinhauser recently spent a few days following Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) around Arizona, on his re-election campaign. Not surprisingly, the topic which voters continue to hound the Senator on is that of illegal immigration.

During a town hall meeting at a North Scottsdale library, a man named Richard Martin railed against McCain, saying: “We all know what happened after 9/11. Why didn’t you close this border down? Where were you, Senator?”

Steinhauser reports that over the three days she spent with the McCain campaign, the most commonly asked question was why he supported amnesty for illegal aliens.

McCain’s answer…“I never supported amnesty.”

WHAT?

As one of the keynote speakers at the 2004 conference, he told the zealous crowd: "It is in our national interest to bring the 8 to 12 million undocumented immigrants out of the shadows and allow them an opportunity to become citizens of this great nation."

Of course, McCain has not only supported amnesty, he wrote the Amnesty bill!

The 2007 McCain-Kennedy Comprehensive Immigration Reform Amnesty bill would have merely required illegal aliens to pay a $5,000 fee in order to stay here and gain legal residency. The fact is that McCain places the same value on American citizenship, at roughly the same cost as a 2003 Volkswagen.

Under McCain's bill, even members of Mexican drug gangs would have received amnesty by simply signing a statement in which they renounced their gang affiliation, the so-called 'background checks' that illegal aliens would have received were only of the 24-hour variety, which reveal very little (if anything), and they would have then been given a six-month worker card. Even violent members of MS-13 would be given legal status based on nothing but their promise to become upstanding citizens.

In 2008, Republican Presidential candidate John McCain told the crowd at annual National La Raza Conference: “I don’t want to fail again to achieve comprehensive immigration reform.”

Of course, “comprehensive immigration reform” is nothing more than code for amnesty for illegal aliens.

After the massive illegal alien protests in 2006, in which millions of law-breakers demanded their ‘rights’ and trampled upon American flags, McCain made the following statement: “If such demonstrations continue, I think we will have a bill for the President to sign soon. The more debate, the more demonstrations, the more likely we will prevail.”

John McCain has spent the last quarter-century in Washington D.C., and for many of those years, he has spent his time working on behalf of illegal aliens and the unscrupulous companies which hire them. He has also sat by and watched as thousands of Americans were murdered, raped, and robbed by those same illegal aliens.

It is only since J.D. Hayworth began gaining ground in his primary challenge to McCain, that the Senator started taking a supposed tough stance on border security.

Until he loses the Arizona Republican primary on August 24, McCain will continue to pretend that he is a tough conservative. However, as much as he would like to, he cannot hide from his own record on illegal immigration.

.......actually this is true... John McCain never had a supporting role in “The AMESTY Bill” He and Ted Kennedy were the co-stars..........

HISTORY OF AMNESTY Non stop illegal immigration is what amnesties have brought us.

Here’s some of the disastrous measures ultra-liberal Teddy Kennedy (and McCain) used to trash our culture. Kennedy was in a class by himself when it came to destroying our borders and our quality of life. He died, after promoting Obama, knowing Obama would continue destroying our borders.

Kennedy (aided by McCain) pushed SEVEN amnesties into law. Eeven though it was said to be the goal, none of it was ever followed by a reduction in illegal immigration.

1. In 1986, Ted Kennedy’s blanket amnesty for 2.7 million illegal aliens promised a lot more enforcement but did not set any requirements for actual reductions in illegal immigration.

2. In 1994, Ted Kennedy’s Section 245(i) Amnesty gave legal residence and jobs to 578,000 illegal aliens. It was a temporary rolling amnesty primarily for extended family members of immigrants who instead of waiting in line, come on to the country illegally.

3. In 1997, Ted Kennedy’s extension of the Section 245(i) rolling amnesty was followed by an increasing flow of illegal immigration.

4. In 1997, Ted Kennedy also won an amnesty for close to one million illegal aliens from Central America. Illegal immigration sped up some more.

5. In 1998, Ted Kennedy won an amnesty for 125,000 illegal aliens from Haiti.

6. In 2000, Ted Kennedy got the so-called Late Amnesty, legalizing another 400,000 illegal aliens who claimed that they missed out on Kennedy’s 1986 amnesty.

7. In 2000, Ted Kennedy also won the LIFE Act Amnesty for an estimated 900,000 illegal aliens. It was another reinstatement of the rolling Section 245(i) amnesty...an estimated 900,000 illegal aliens. Illegal immigration accelerated.

I think in McCain's case, it is more on what the definition of 'amnesty' is - he claims that just because illegals will have to pay a fine and a portion of back taxes, that isn't amnesty.

Horsehockey. They get to stay here legally and be rewarded for coming here illegally.

I think John will be an adversary to the GOP whether he remains a Republican senator, or retired media darling.

Good Charlie Daniels article!

A Nation In Jeopardy
http://www.charliedanielssoapbox.com/view_topic.php?id=9134&forum_id=4

For the first time in my life, I am seriously worried about the future of the United States of America, and not just about the wars we’re fighting, the economic and ecological disasters we’re currently going through, the shrinking dollar or swelling entitlement rolls.

While the combination of the aforementioned are definitely sources of deep worry for me, they are only symptoms of an even a deeper and darker reason for my anxiety, and that is the bottomless precipice the U.S.A. keeps inching closer to.

This country has been blessed above any other in the recorded history of mankind. Our geographical location, our fertile farmland and plentiful water supplies, the exceptionalism of our people, the bounty of our oceans and the sheer beauty of this land combine to express the blessings a benevolent God has showered on this land for over two centuries.

Though some people refuse to admit it, it doesn’t change the absolute fact that this great nation was founded by God-fearing men on Judeo-Christian principles and it was their intention for it to remain that way.

It has become fashionable in the elitist class to only honor Almighty God with a wink and a nod and to interpret the Constitution and the other federal papers as strictly secular documents, without any reference to the God our founding fathers believed in and made sure to include in their writings.

In this nation that once included prayer in the everyday curriculum of its schools, the very word of God and Jesus Christ are shunned, actually outlawed. We take his name in vain without even a thought.

The Ten Commandments are banned from public places and anything that can be remotely construed as a Christian symbol is attacked by the A.C.L.U. and an ever increasingly liberal Supreme Court.

We elect politicians who don’t even acknowledge the exceptionalism of America but go abroad and inform the world at large just how bad we are.

We send the people to office, not because they will preserve the greatness and security of America but those who we think will give us the most money or the biggest advantages from an already bankrupt federal treasury.

In the name of “choice” we murder millions of unborn babies every year, claiming that they’re just blobs of flesh anyway, not really babies, even though their heartbeat is audible after just 18 days in the womb.

We fall for grandiose hoaxes like global warming and stand idly by while the wealth of our nation is pillaged and raped by presidents and congressmen whose only interest is the next election and their continuing hold on power.

Teenaged pregnancy is common as children have babies they’re ill equipped to care for, and society is rife with absentee fathers who are too shiftless to help support the children they’re responsible for bringing into the world, leaving the innocent children to be cared for by the welfare system, many times going on to repeat the mistakes of their fathers and mothers, bringing more children into the system to live off the state.

We legitimize same sex marriages and condone public schools giving condoms to kids who are too young to even understand what they’re for.
We refuse to defend our borders and foolishly damn any state that takes the problem into their own hands.

We have a government that sends young men and women into battle that don’t even have the decency to call the wars they fight and the enemy they’re fighting by their proper names.

Political correctness has taken the place of common sense and the lion’s share of our media report the news according to their political agenda.

Gang violence and child predators roam our streets and justice has come down to just how much money you have to hire the right lawyer.
Men call good evil and evil good and sell their American birthright for the empty promises of politicians.

If you condemn somebody of a minority race for wrongdoing or stand up for the immigration laws to be enforced you’re called a racist.
Our homeland stands in danger of destruction while a weak president, a corrupt congress and an out of control bureaucracy sit on their hands and issue platitudes and excuses for not urgently pursuing terrorists in our midst.

We are drifting away from Almighty God as a nation and we are beginning to reap the whirlwind.

Hold on folks, it’s going to be a bumpy ride.

If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. - 2 Chronicles 7:14

That’s our only hope.

What do you think?

Pray for our troops, and for our country.

God Bless America

Charlie Daniels

See Senator, this is why you'll likely find yourself with 20 suits and no frikkin' job come November: People can easily identify lies: and especially so with the Internet and YouTube.

"You took that quote out of context!" "It was said in humor." "That's not what I said."

Then when someone looks into your past speeches ( I bet all the way back to high school days if you made speeches then), they can see if you are consistent or trying to mislead.

Like now.
