We Americans can shoulder almost any other burden, but this. Blanket amnesty for an estimated 30 million illegals would also provide a bridge for their families to come here legally, as well. Altogether, it would spell the end of all things for this country.
That is something that all normal Americans would instantly conclude, and their collective reaction would be swift and sure. It would not stand, and would result in arrests and treason trials across the depth and breadth of the federal government. And it probably wouldn't stop there. Once the fuse is lit, there'll be no turning the thing off. It will run its complete course.
