Troubled former New York Giants superstar Tiki Barber claims he is broke and unable to pay the divorce settlement demanded by the mother of his four children after he was axed from NBC's "Today" show, the New York Post reported Wednesday.
Barber -- who ditched his wife of 11 years, Ginny, for 23-year-old blond former NBC intern Traci Lynn Johnson -- claims his career is in tatters and that he has taken a huge financial hit since his estimated $300,000 NBC contract ended.

Tiki Barber repeatedly attacked his coach and teammates on the Giants. Incidentally the Giants got a lot better after Tiki left and won the Superbowl the season after his retirement. While at NBC he took cheap shots at his former coach. Now it appears that Tiki had no more loyalty to his wife and children than he had to his teammates and coach. After he got done trashing his former coach it turns out Tiki didn't have much to say and soon lost his NBC jobs. Now he has no job, no money no family and no class. Karma really is a bitch isn't it Tiki, as you sow so shall you reap.

So sad to hear your situation. Hang in there! The same thing happened to my sister. Her husband bailed on her and their 4 kids. Several friends had the same thing happen. As well as my mother-in-law, my step-mom with her first husband...it’s pretty common, unfortunately.
Also unfortunate is the lack of any sort of sympathy from many Freepers on this subject. Many guys here usually blame the woman for her husband leaving (there must have been *something* she was - or wasn’t doing for him), or that women are psycho so the husband bailed, or that the courts are stacked in favor of the woman no matter what and the man didn’t actually bail - the wife just makes it appear that he did for custody. Or all of the above. A very one-sided, knee-jerk view.
Just an FYI and welcome to FreeRepublic.

single mothes are the problem with our country. Really? I didnt ask to be a single mother.
Like Dr. Laura, I suspect that Miss Coulter was referring to those who bore children without benefit of marriage. You are no more a "single mother" than is any widow with minor children.

I’m sure Ms. Coulter would be very supportive of you but have some choice words for your ex. Welcome to Free Republic. There are some very caring people here, many of whom have been in your shoes. I hope you find comfort and guidance from them.

You won't generally get that from the Catholics onthis board (NYer, BlackElk, Don-O, etc.)
I don't recall having seen the story about your sister, but as far as the "she asked for it" bit. None of the excuses justifies adultery. Certainly none justifies abandoning children, and darn few justify separation. (Being truly Psycho, MIGHT be cause for separation [still does not excuse adultery], but only if the children are protected from the Psycho FIRST.)

Sounds to me with a mother like you your daughter doesn’t need a father. My father bailed on my mother and I when I was 15. She struggled to support the two of us, but helped me through college. Because of her I am a successful person and I think a better mother to my own daughter. Because of her too, I am going to instill in my daughter she needs to be able to take care of herself and any children she has because it’s like you said, not all single mothers chose that path.
I know it’s hard, but keep your chin up and don’t ever doubt yourself.

There’s a whole list of people (none you mentioned...) that rant and rave about the woman being at fault. It’s sad.

Wait a minute....NBC exercised the morals clause in Barber's contract? Jeez, what about the rest of the degenerates at the network? Are they all gonna shoved out the door, too? Why Barber and not Lauer then, eh??
I guess Letterman is glad he jumped networks back when.

I remember him rolling along in a Big Limo with an aide showing the world was gonna be just great for him retiring early from the NFL, a Pro & Super Bowl RB. What a sad joke
