Things have changed at the site of the BP Spill.
The CAP they put on has been removed from the top of the BOP.
Go to the link, to see for yourself.
Anyone know what the next step is ?
new cap which is supposed to fit better and allow more oil to be captured.
Spewing uncontrollably.
Maybe installing a new cap ?
New improved cap going on.
Not all of the oil is coming out of the top. Some of it is coming up from the side, what does this mean??? A crack in the well head?
I heard on the news last night they were concerned the well pipe itself is cracked and leaking into the rock around the well itself. By putting the cap on the pipe it’s increasing the pressure within the well itself forcing more oil though well pipe cracks and further destabalizing the entire well shaft. So they were going to take the cap off to preserve the well pipe the best they can for future capping attempts.
just what I heard. Take it for what it’s worth.
Anyone know what the status of the relief well is? There was a report a few days ago that they were within 200 feet of the main well bore.
I don’t know which ROVCAM you see that from.
What I see is dispersant coming from the side.
Itinerary is still mid-August. The process slows way down once they get near the well.
I went to BP’s site and the latest info on the CAP is from June 20.

You think they would update it soon.
Only when they have something they want you to know.
my?: What is that yellow stuff gushing out?
Must be our dictator got pi$$ed off about the judge overturning the ban on drilling. /s (kinda’)
That was just the effect of the 'lighting'. There were two views of the leaking area above the BOP where they cut the Riser.
One looked 'yellow' as you noted, whereas the other view from a different ROV showed it 'very dark'.
You might want to look at the feeds again as it appears they are putting the cap back on.
Still watching the feeds, and the leaking oil/gas has slowed considerably.
BTW, it is not a NEW CAP. It’s the same one. They had to remove it to fix some damage a ROV caused to some auxiliary line.
Must have been just a rumor, as the same old cap was put back on after it was repaired.
The leak has slowed considerably.
Here are the feeds so you can see it: http://mxl.fi/bpfeeds2/
