Filthy ‘Rats..... there word is never their bond! My toilet bowl has more honor than those lying cretins. At least it can be trusted to perform a useful function after I flush down the daily democrat.

"Dems: We’re not bound by president’s tax vow"

When the time comes for him to sign any such legislation, they'll ALL be bound to it, and will pay the price accordingly.

Expect them to advocate higher taxes in the name of "fiscal responsibility", and lowering the deficit. I know it's a very stupid argument, but that's what they are likely to do. The Rs better be ready to attack that position, and attack it hard, because the media will do all they can to help them promote it(as with most other dem ideas). Too many 'Joe six packs' out there who honestly believe the deficit is a problem, will be susceptible to the argument of the "rich" having to pay to close the deficit gap. The republicans better be ready to educate people as to what higher taxes mean, and drive home the fact that they are spending out of control, driving the deficit higher.

Here's an idea... Rather than cutting into our paychecks, we should cut wasteful government instead. Then point out, and focus on all of the waste and excess in the federal budget.

They can’t even pay for healthcare; much less anything else.

Of course, they can pay themselves with stolen taxpayor money thrown into slush funds.

Haaa! True. They realized that when they put a limit on income that there are a hundred ways to not make over $250K and many are doing that! Caught at their own idiotic noose.

This is a very serious situation.” Sen. Byron Dorgan (N.D.),...

REALLY, well that darn Bush making you demonrats raise those taxes to fix that awful mess he left behind! Gee Dorgan...were you dancing that rat dance when you passed all that spending to include healthcare. One piece of advice to the rat lurkers who visit, don’t forget to tell Dorgan that the American people will not sleep until taxes are raised on everyone making over $60,000/year. WE all want to help out. REALLY! Honest! See ya in November guys.

NO sarcasm intended (wink).

...The economy didn't grow because of the Clinton tax increases, it grew in spite of it. The economy exploded in the 90's due largely to two things - free trade and the ubiquitous distribution of the personal computer and internet.

Absolutely correct. I'd like to add a third reason. Cheap energy, from the mid 90s to around 2001 Asia was in a recession and oil prices plummeted due to a supply glut.

‘He noted that tax increases in the early 1990s raised government revenues from 17 percent to 21 percent of gross domestic product and ushered in a decade of prosperity.’

This is a lie or he doesn’t know that a decade is ten years.

"I'd like to add a third reason. Cheap energy"

Yes, I should have certainly included that.

Economists talk about the financial crisis of 2007/2008 as the impetus for this recession. That's probably true on balance. BUT, the spike in energy prices in the spring of 2008 and into the summer of 2008 absolutely worsened it. If people are spending $150 a month (or more) extra in fuel costs, that's %150 less they have to spend in other areas.

There are people out there who don’t see it because they can’t bear to see it.

I have to tell you, I wish I didn’t see it. I feel like I can see what is in store for us with a clarity that is disturbing. I occasionally feel some small envy for people who don’t seem to see it coming...just for a change of scenery, so to speak.

I’ve read too much history to indulge in that though.

All the Socialist agenda items that the country has been persecuted with represent the essence of the DEMOCRAP PARTY!

CZAR B.O. does not vote in either house of the Congress. He is merely the negro spokesman for the DEMOCRAP PARTY and is the foil for the DEMOCRAPS to brand anyone who objects to the SOCIALIST initiatives as RACISTS!
