Jim Deakin for United States Senate
http://jimdeakin.com ^ | June 22,2010 | jimdeakin.com

Posted on 06/22/2010 10:26:10 AM PDT by Maelstorm

Jim Deakin: is a proud US Navy Veteran who has served this nation and sworn the oath to uphold our Constitution and to defend it. Mr. Deakin takes such an oath seriously and is prepared step up now, when the people of Arizona and this great Nation are in dire need of such commitment and resolve from those we select to represent us.

Jim served on board the Reuben James FFG 57 under Ronald Reagan. He is an honored husband, and father of three, Jim is indeed a Patriot, and to those with whom he served alongside, an American Hero. While assigned to the Reuben James, Jim was on the fire brigade and was called to action to battle a blaze onboard an adjacent vessel. On another occasion, subsequent to an explosion of a boiler mechanism, Jim again displayed his selfless fortitude and resolve, facing danger head on during the rescue of two of his shipmates. Jim’s courage and mettle were acknowledged by his superiors and he was also assigned to the Security detail where extensive training was directed toward repelling those who might attempt to forcibly board the vessel.

Jim Deakin is also an avid Individualist and Entrepreneur. After his Honorable discharge from the US Navy, Jim sought to build upon his skills and acumen garnered during his service. Jim joined the ranks of one of industries Fortune 100 companies. Excelling at this endeavor, Jim advanced upward to the Management sphere. Being an Individualist, Jim was drawn to and embarked on a new path toward defining his future. With the arrival of the new millennium, Jim ventured out and began a successful career designing, building and installing fire safety systems for industry.

Jim Deakin’s patriotism and love of this great Nation, his respect and admiration of the Founding Fathers and the Constitution of The United States has lead him to embark on yet another great endeavor. On January 7, 2009, Mr. Deakin filed the necessary paperwork with the FEC and US Senate to challenge John McCain in his efforts to extend his nearly 30 years in our political machine.

It’s time for a change, time for a new Patriot, a new American Hero. It’s time for a true Constitutional Conservative representing the people of Arizona and the American Person. Jim Deakin is not from an ‘elite’ politically connected family. Jim Deakin is an everyday, average American. He is an honest, dedicated, hard working individual who, along with millions of our fellow Americans, knows the time is now to defend our Constitution and the ideologies that constructed it.

If we are going to replace McCain this is the kind of man we need. A real outsider not a pretend one.

I never knew Reagan commanded a US navy frigate...

mccain must be in really big trouble if they are pushing dead enders into the mix.

I’m not sure about that. I actually like this guy and he has moved up 7% and I think even McCain voters could be swayed by him where as many can’t by Haywoth. The choice between McCain and Hayworth is in my opinion the choice between two kinds of bad Republicans. Jim Deakin is just an honest hard working guy who wants small government and we need people like him who will never sell out and aren’t in this for blind ambition and power. I think Hayworth has never had a chance at beating McCain and even less so now. Jim Deakin could win and he wouldn’t have the same effect of electing Hayworth over McCain. Actually Deakin in the race is refreshing. A choice for a change. I’m tired of retreads and I’m tired of the false choices and I think Arizona could surprise in the end like Nevada.

I’ve never heard Deakin speak but I like him. I like the fact he clearly isn’t a politician.

he is still just a vote splitter.

He means nothing except a mccain victory. That is 7% that could have gone to a viable mccain opposition.

I never heard of him till this post. Right now at 7% he is mccain’s best friend.

Deakin is a conservative who is pompous enough to think that he can go from the same status that you or I have (that of being a concerned citizen) to the high rank of US Senator in one fell swoop. He is like a bulldog growling and nipping at McCain and JD's ankles.

He promotes the fact that he is not one of the political class, yet is running to become one himself. He, at best, will be the possible spoiler that gives us back McCain for another six yrs., but he is so hepped up on his own importance that he doesn't care about our wanting to "retire" McCain.

If he truly wanted to get rid of McCain that 7% "spoiler" sign flashing in his face would be an eye-opener to him and he would drop out and do what he could to get McCain ousted.

Conservative or no, his name among most conservatives in AZ will be mud if he is the cause of us getting six more yrs. of "cross the aisle" McCain!

I suggest that Deakin start at some State level office and work his way up instead of wanting the big kahuna right off the bat.

This unfunded unknown Deakin cannot win. All he can do is split the conservative vote and help McCain.

I think a lot of folks look at people that start their resume with “proud vet” and say that sounds good to me, but Jimmy CArter was a vet and many thought his relationship with the nuke program was all good for America...not so. McCain and Kerry two vets - look what trouble they have created. I served four in the Air Force and am proud of it, but being in the service is only one part of the deal. They guy who beat Spector was a vet and he took a pubbies congressional seat. Beware of sheep in wolfs clothing.

Actually Deakin in the race is refreshing.... for McCain supporters.

Jim is a Tea Party activist with visions of grandeur. Tea Party after Tea Party are endorsing J D Hayworth and several are passing resolutions requesting Deakin to pull out of the race and endorse JD.

He won't because McCain wants him to remain in. Deakin’s continuing bad judgment illustrates the problem he has with those who have previously supported him.

Some of you just won’t be happy if you can’t keep McCain in the Senate. How much damage will you be happy with?

McCain’s 2nd best friend...Deakin...is doing his job...lying about J.D. Hayworth and throwing the vote to McCain. What a country! THE best government $$ can buy.

Here is the kind of thing Deakin puts out on the web:

Deakin is a LIAR and not very bright.

Jim Deakin:

I scoured the Library of Congress and could find no significant differences in the voting record of John McCain and John Hayworth.

As a politician, it appears from the Library of Congress that Hayworth is politics as usual.

Hayworth served for 12 YEARS. I cannot list every vote (you are welcome to do your own research at http://thomas.loc.gov/ )

Amnesty laws and extensions passed during the Hayworth years in Congress. http://www.legion.org/documents/legion/pdf/illegalimmigration.pdf Page 14 and 15

1. Section 245(i) The Amnesty of 1994 – a temporary rolling amnesty for 578,000 illegal aliens.

2. Section 245(i) The Extension Amnesty of 1997 – an extension of the rolling amnesty created in 1994.

3. Nicaraguan Adjustment and Central American Relief Act (NASCARA) Amnesty of 1997 – An amnesty for close to one million illegal aliens from Central America.

4. Haitian Refugee Immigration Fairness Act Amnesty (HRIFA) of 1998 — An amnesty for 125,000 illegal aliens from Haiti.

5. Late Amnesty of 2000 – An amnesty for illegal aliens who claim they should have been amnestied under the 1986 IRCA amnesty, an estimated 400,000 illegal aliens.

6. Life Amnesty of 2000 – A reinstatement of the rolling Section 245(i) amnesty that legalized an estimated 900,000 illegal aliens.

I did not look to see if JD actually voted for any of these Laws. However, he did not stop them either.

Jim Deakin
http://sonoranweeklyreview.com/?p=2441

***************NOTE what he says here: “
I did not look to see if JD actually voted for any of these Laws. “

NO, Hayworth didn’t vote for them! If he knows Hayworth at all, he knows J.D. did everything possible to fight those bills, even writing a book about the issue!

I contacted Deakin about this post, but he ignored it.

This sort of dead end candidate does nothing except to siphon off critical anti-McCain voters who fall for such diversionary efforts.

Makes me wonder how much McCain’s campaign, flush with cash, is funneling to Deakin.

Boy, HOWDY! I’m down with my back (separated sacroiliac) and come back and it seems FR is the McCain/Kennedy wing of the GOP!

GAWD! How many elections are we going to keep doing this???

And THEY accuse US of not compromising??? How much more ‘compromised’ can you get than this???

Daddy Bush
DOLE
Bush Jr.
Bush Jr.
McStain
and my prediction for the next fiasco??
Romney/Palin

FACT is, Duncan Hunter was the ONLY candidate running last time worthy of the office. Which is why they ALL wanted him gone.

PUKE!

McCain didn't have to buy Deakin. Deakin is a dumbass seeking 15 minutes of fame and too concerned with himself to do McCain a favorite out right. The end is the same, and McCain LOVES it. I notice he NEVER says anything against Deakin. Now, some of thugs, criminal types McCain hangs with could certainly 'influence' a Deakin.

John McCain has a long time, well known GAMBLING problem! His support and $ come from questionable people with questionable ties.

Mafia ties:

In 1995, McCain sent birthday regards, and regrets for not attending, to Joseph "Joe Bananas" Bonano, the head of the New York Bonano crime family, who had retired to Arizona. Another politician to send regrets was Governor Fife Symington, who has since been kicked out of office and convicted of 7 felonies relating to fraud and extortion.

http://www.realchange.org/mccain.htm

McCain's mafia ties go back further than that ... all the way back to Cindy McCain's mafia connected dad, who launched McCain's career and put him on the nipple of Charles Keating and friends. Cindy's dad took the fall for the mafia over illegal liqour distribution charges and was rewarded with a beer distributorship when he got out of the clink. Cindy's dad also helped the mob do some dirty business in the New Mexico horse racing market back in the day.

Why did McCain celebrate his birthday on a Mobster's Yacht?

The photograph substantiates reports that in late August, 2006, McCain celebrated his 70th birthday aboard a yacht, the Celine Ashley, rented by A-list con man Raffaello Follieri and his then-movie star girlfriend Anne Hathaway.

Follieri, who posed as Vatican chief financial officer in order to win friends and investments, pleaded guilty Wednesday in a Manhattan district court to conspiracy to commit wire fraud, eight counts of wire fraud and five counts of money laundering.
