The top commander in Afghanistan, Gen. Stanley McChrystal, has been summoned to the White House to explain biting and unflattering remarks he made to a freelance writer about President Barack Obama and others in the Obama administration.

The face-to-face comes as pundits are already calling for McChrystal to resign for insubordination.

I can kinda see both of your points. McCrystal probably should have spilled the beans on this administration in congressional testimony and then turned in his resignation. That way he could have gotten the press and his points across in a big way. It’s hard to disagree with any of McCrystal points. Obama and his administration ARE a bunch of clowns.

How about a special,non-public courtmatial for insubordination run by Holder's group and a bad conduct discharge?

We either believe in the rule of law or we do not. While McChrystal is free to offer his true opinion of Obama et. al. outside of the military life, as a General serving in the Military, he is to be a subordinate to the Commander in Chief.

So, while McChrystal's criticism may be valid, and I'm not quite sure it is, it's not appropriate in his current role.

Many of his comments seem jaded because Obama didn't know who he is....sounds like an ego.

“Imagine the msm angst when the people speak out in support of a general who demonstrates the president is incompetent.”

Obama has done a pretty good job of that himself so far!

I believe he was a BO supporter because he knew that his passive support might help his career ambitions and it seems as if that has worked to a certain extent. Most general officers are political animals. Some more than others but the majority are. This is not new. During the Civil War way too many of the failed union generals were politically connected rather than fighters and leaders, which also explains why they really disliked generals like Grant, Sherman and Sheridan.

“In that article McChrystal acknowledged that he voted for Obama, so he’s no patriot. That makes him a flaming @sshole whose poor judgement makes me question his ability to tie his own shoes.”

My sentiments exactly, well said.

I can’t disagree with his points either- and I understand strategically why it might make sense for him to let this out in an interview. I just can’t get past the insubordination.

It’s always been hard for me to trust him after his agreement to the ROE’s .. they are suicidal.

Meanwhile- on a lighter note- if you want a hoot- check out The One’s golf swing ;)

Yes, WunderBoy is a thug...but only with a LOT of back up. I can guarantee that meeting is going to be the General, Barry and about 10 Barry butt-boys. I’m sure Rahmbo will be there to do the screaming and threatening. The General will be fired and threatened and I’m sure Manet Napolitano will have a dossier in hand to coerce him into silence.

These thugs are the worst of Chicago political slimeballs. Now in charge of our wonderful country. I want them out. Now. My only hope is for Issa to keep digging for dirt, then in November to start hearings. Well, I can dream, can’t I?

This is not a name-calling moment.

It is easy to call them from the bench.

General McChrystal sees the betrayal of our troops by Obama. There is a much larger story that will be coming out over the next few months.

A story of command hesitation and game playing with the Afghans.

This was not an off-hand comment of General McChrystal, but a long running series of comments about the growing futility of the AfPak war. He knew what he was doing and knows the consequences. He is sacrificing his career for the eventual good of his troops.

Our political gamesmanship is killing the troops he loves and he can't stand anymore.

Afghanistan is devolving, our command structure is breaking apart and will continue to reorganize away from Karzai's goals. Much more to come.

>> I think McCrystal fell on the sword on this.

Maybe he’ll be available for 2012.

“McChrystal knew what he was doing. He knows this is a career ender for him. I think he’s sounding the alarm in a very public way. In his own way he’s keeping his oath to the constitution. He is a patriot.”

He should require BO to prove his orders are legal.

Many of us are dreaming. I want to believe there are patriotic and well positioned Americans working up front like Issa but also behind the scenes to expose the lies, corruption and thievery that is going on.

“It’s always been hard for me to trust him after his agreement to the ROE’s .. they are suicidal.”

I felt the same way about the general after the ROE’s. He should have spoken up then instead of rubber stamping and kissing up to this president and his clown posse of an administration.

Thanks for the video link. going to check it out.

God Bless Our Troops!

I agree. I didn’t like this when it happened while Bush was president and I don’t like it now.

“...he could and should have resigned his commission first...”

Nonsense, and throw away his retirement? Why would he do such a stupid thing?

Each day, I try to tell myself it can’t get worse and each day it DOES get worse. Have we reached the point of no return? Have we? We only hear and read about SOME of the devestating activies that go on behind closed doors. What else is going on that is worse?

It's just going to get worse & only a collapse & true revolution will change things. People are still too satisfied with American Idol & a six pack for a revolution. . We're BKed, no morals, an uneducated younger class & the most corrupt democracy on the planet.

Good grief! Obama needs to resign right along with McChrystal.
