Barack Obama was supposed to be the best, the very best, and yet he is always, reliably, consistently mediocre.
His speech on oil was no better or worse than his speech on race. Yet the Obammyboppers who once squealed with delight are weary of last year's boy band.
At the end of the big Oval Office address, Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews and the rest of the MSNBC gang jeered the president.
For a bewildered Obama, it must have felt like his Ceausescu balcony moment.

Don’t be too sure about that. Those who were foolish enough to vote for 0 will most likely stick with him. Why then is his popularity still in the 40% range? They should’ve been in the teens.

Based on his term to date, I think President Obama’s best work has been his performance related to the oil spill. It’s just that people are starting to notice...
But alas, Obama is STILL their child, and they will not completely forsake him.

Response: He has been consistently promoted his entire life because of his being a black. He was elected into the highest office by some unfathomable spasm of the American electorate deceived by his glibness and the cunning of his advisors. His behavior in office consistently evidences his and his administrations lack of real ability.
It might be worth tuning into SNL if they ever just did a straight reading of Obama’s Oval Office Oil speech (aka OOOOS). The biggest joke of all would be on those laughing at what they think are SNL jokes!
