Mr. Cable TV...
(Excerpt) Read more at politipage.com ...
Is this about what BOR said on Beck’s show? BOR is a turd. I will not ever listen to anything he says again. He has completely lost any respect he had previous to this.
I saw BOR on his own show saying that its fine to shakedown BP.
I am so damned tired of Zero's thuggery. He doesn't follow the rule of law, and the SOB should be in jail for his criminal actions.
BOR’s biggest nightmare would be Levin getting a TV show opposite his time slot (you know, if say CNN or MSNBC ever came to their senses). He’d be killed in that time slot - only the libs that watch his show would be left.
I have little respect left for BOR, but after what he said about how it was okay to go outside the law to punish someone (or a company in this case) made me lose the little I had.
Those that agree with what the President has done have not thought it out completely.
There are few that will defend BP, but there are already laws on the book to handle the case. Further, as for compensation, there are laws for that as well. I have no doubt when the cases come to court, those really damaged will be compensated. Or, at least they would have before the President acted.
He has done everything he can to put BP out of business.
Who is going to be compensated if BP is forced to go bankrupt?
O’Reilly, like many other fairly shallow thinkers, does not understand nor respect the principles and value of the Constitution, rule of law, and the founders wisdom, foresight, and divine inspiration in the establishment of the Republic. I was disappointed that Michelle Bachman, for whom I have great regard, was unable to clearly state those principles and bring the Constitution openly into the conversation.
Until he is confronted with these issues (it’s not about the money - it IS about the Constitution and rule of law), he will never get it from the secular “progressives” that he apparently listens to.
The Big O would swim through raw sewage to get The Little O to come on his show again. This is why he panders to him like a blithering idiot. Makes me want to hurl.
Thanks for posting. HOORAY Mark Levin! Thank you, sir.
VOICE: When does the President become a dictator on this? When does the President start really calling the shots and saying, This is the number, this is what you're going to pay, we're not going to let you off the hook?
GLENN: When does the President become a dictator on this? And he's not the only one that's just saying, do it. You have a senator play the play the cut from the senator. When asked, well, what legal right does he have to do these things, to demand these things, here is I don't remember which senator he is, one of the one of the senators. Do you have it? I think it's 389, I think. Hold on just a second.
VOICE: A specific question for you on what legal basis can the government demand that BP set aside this money? What's the specific legal authority for this?
VOICE: Well, first of all, if we have to pass a statute to create that authority, we will.
GLENN: Okay. Then you have commentators on CNBC saying this guy is setting up a separate legal system outside of the framework of the Constitution. Does this concern you at all that the left is actually they don't have a problem with a dictatorship, as long as it is their, you know, legal system
O'REILLY: No doubt that that's at this point critical on the left. Okay? But in this case I think that you have to find a way to make BP pony up money. So, I mean, obviously I'm a Constitutionalist and I want the law to be obeyed, but you have to find a way. Now, if I were Obama, I would be looking in camera and say, look, I'm not a dictator, I'm not trying to tell anybody anything but I am going to strong arm these people to make them pay damages to everybody who is suffering. I, President Obama, am going to strong arm BP. If I've got to do it economically, I'm going to do it economically. If I can find a legal loophole, I'm going to do it. They're responsible. They've got to pony up. So, I would be honest with about it; and I think that's the way to handle it. Do you disagree?
GLENN: Yeah. I don't want to find legal loopholes or play any games. I want to apply justice and justice would demand that they do pay for their mistakes and I'm not
O'REILLY: That's right.
GLENN: I'm not going to play any games with them. They're not going to get any special favors, but I'm also not going to I'm not going to skirt around the law or the Constitution.
O'REILLY: Well, wait a minute, Beck. You can find creative ways to make people do the right thing.
GLENN: That's called nudge.
O'REILLY: That's what's in play here. I have no problem with BP having to pony up 20 billion and probably more.
GLENN: Neither do I. They should have to may for their damages.
O'REILLY: What?
GLENN: Yes. They've
O'REILLY: They've got to pony it up. They've got to pay for the cleanup and they can't weasel out of it. If Obama can find a way to make them do it, which apparently has, because they estimated the money, more power to them.
GLENN: That's exactly right.
O'REILLY: In my world I understand the world of theory and I understand, you know, the left is hypocritical. They say, Okay. We want our guy to be the dictator but don't you do anything unilaterally if you're a conservative. Okay. We all got that. We all have, but there are things like executive orders in this country that give the President the power to right wrongs and he's got to use that and I think he did.
GLENN: See, this is the kind of thing we're out of time now, but this is the kind of thing that I'll be responding to in Columbus.
I also wish Michelle Bachmann would have driven that point home about this country's blatant regard to the rule of law.
The first defense against that is the Congress. (Big laugh)
The 2nd defense is the USSC. (Another laugh)
The last defense is The People. (No laughing)
BOR is so simple-minded, I'm sure he does not understand 0bama extorts $20billion the same way Hugo Chavez does WHAT A MAROON !!! I did as well.
that he is cheering on the Marxist takeover of this country.
and BOR cheers.
Even though Barry said $20 billion wasn’t a cap...by BP agreeing to go down that road (with their leftist “cap & tax” leanings), perhaps the tent has already been set up for this circus that will be played out over the years.
This administration have disgraced this country. I can’t imagine what other countries are thinking when they see this thuggish behavior.
Somebody needs to investigate BOR’s claim of “looking out for the folks” and sieze his money. I’m sure the constitution would take on a whole new level of importance in his eyes in a hurry.
Why do I get the feeling that the 20 billion will go to companies with a union affiliation only? Not that I believe they should have extorted the money but I’m just sayin...
Therefore I have no respect for every republican who has sat on his ass and said nothing or has condemned Barton. No chicken crap republican will ever get my vote.
