I’m kicking in as much as I can but my retirement doesn’t go far. It seems like every damned thing in the house is breaking down to boot!

“I’m kicking in as much as I can but my retirement doesn’t go far.”

Since I was always self employed, I paid in as little as I could to SS.
I started drawing it at age 64.
While it is minimal, it is more then I need for a pleasant
life for me and my girlfriend here in the Philippines.
Many in the US are paying more for gas each month then I pay for a month of rent, food, internet, and a ltr. of wine every day ;)

Same thing here. Every time I turn around something else breaks down and it's not in the retirement check to get any of it fixed. OTOH, I just got back from the grocery and found some great deals so the freezer and pantry are bulging at the seams. This week I've worked on the insurance getting cheaper quotes so will be moving policies which will free up a few hundred dollars (but those dollars are already marked toward an extra payment).
