Rep. Jo Bonner, an Alabama Republican, is calling on Rep. Joe Barton to step down as the ranking Republican on the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
Bonner is the second Republican, following Florida Republican Rep. Jeff Miller, to call for Barton to step aside.
In a lengthy statement, Bonner said his colleagues Thursday comments regarding BP sadly fell short of an appropriate response.

You said it better than I ever could have. I will only add that no Dem walks around in fear of being hung out to flap in wind for saying something radically liberal. In fact, they can pretty much say anything they want, and the Dems will close ranks against criticism. Joe Barton had the guts to tell the truth, and Boehner practically broke both legs racing to denounce him. It’s just a damn crying shame.
AL is moving so far left that she must felt compelled to speak out to save her seat.
Correction: This is NOT the first time Ive felt physically sick over Republican leadership and SURELY WON'T BE THE LAST! The Republican Party is committing hari-kari and has for years. It can only win by default.
He should NEVER have agreed to the Chicago Shakedown! The Reverend Jesse Jackass did a similar shakedown on Texaco 13 years ago...and they NEVER recovered! Now Texaco is GONE.

—————————————did BP cut a deal with the Obama administration: $20 billion for a slap on the wrist concerning a criminal investigation, and tons of other goodies like cap and trade and federal bailout guarantees?————————
Your question is a very shrewd one. May the MSM fear you for a long time. :-)
Anyways, the answer to your question has already been answered.
=============This would not be a good result for anyone. Now look at how the deal between the White House and BP is structured. BP is not handing over a $20 billion novelty check tomorrow. Instead they are set to pay $3 billion in the third quarter of this year, $2 billion in the fourth, and then $1.25 billion per quarter thereafter. In the meantime, BP has identified $20 billion worth of assets in the United States that the federal government now has a lien on. In the event of a bankruptcy, guess who gets to jump in line and have their claims honored first? Still guessing? Then ask Chryslers secured creditors.==========

It’s interesting to me to see a government so powerful it can nationalize a foreign corporation.
Granted, it hasn’t happened quite yet. But the framework is in place now. The clock is ticking and that is the goal here.
BP probably thinks it’s getting a deal by looking at it short term, from a blind corporate way of looking at it.
I called Barton’s office today and they were very grateful.
These two A-wies arent Republicans they are democrat rim job experts.
Barton was right. These two need to seek a new party, they don’t belong to the Republican party, or maybe if they do I need to seek a new party.
>>>>>>>These so-called Republicans couldnt find their gonads with both hands and a mirror<<<<<<<<<
You can’t find what you aint got.
Bonner who? =.=
It tells me they are team players...so after huddling with the Democrat faction of The Team, they chose this course of action.
Agreed. This was a blatant shakedown, and no one should apologize for saying so.
There is a disturbing third-world element to the way Congress and the White House are publically attacking this company and its CEO.
You’re right, Obama put them in a position where it’s to Obama’s advantage for them to go bankrupt. But it’s also in Obama’s interests to have a strong BP as a partner to push through cap and trade. Either way BP and Obama are BFF’s and this deal stinks. BP may be a victim as Barton believes, but I doubt it.
true...
This is why the Republicans will not take over Comgress in the November elections.
There are too many of these RINOs running on the Democrat lite platform and the Republican leadership is right there with them.
They stand for nothing but their own careers. No conservative is going to get off their butt supporting these morons.
All Barton did was TELL THE TRUTH!
lol they are attacking a state with to prevent it from enforcing the law they swore to uphold...they will do anything no matter what the law says...for their own good not ours.
I was standing with him, too, until I realized I was standing there by myself.
Barton is a coward for caving to quisling scumbags like Miller and Bonner.
Oh, wait ...
