I’m watching the Cardinal’s-Oakland A’s game, and the announcers were just now AGAIN trying to “sell” the concert.
Many have yet to move past lead singer Natalie Maines’ comments against the war in Iraq and then-President George W. Bush at a 2003 concert in London.
Rewriting history again, Maines’ dissed her fans.
“That didn’t sit well with country music fans then, and now Maines says she’s finished with the genre and is none too pleased with the fans, basically labeling them as redneck hicks.”
Maines said, “And I guess I was ignorant to the fact that the stereotypes behind country music were true and it was disappointing.”
Ouch. She wasn’t finished trashing the fans of country music.
“So I’m pretty much done. They’ve shown their true colors. I like lots of country music, but as far as the industry and everything that happened... I couldn’t want to be farther away from that,” Maines told EW.
Don Henley Must Die...
Eagles-— Most repellent of the baby boomer nostalgia bands
Oh, those eagles. I was mistaken, I thought Philly was showing off their “new” stadium to some “friends”. Joe Walsh should have stayed with the James Gang.
The are liberals.
Next line in the article: “’We have nothing but respect for them because of the fact they stand by their convictions,’ Schmit says.”
That’s something to consider if anyone’s thinking of snapping up some bargain-basement Dixie Eagles tickets.
...Larry the Cable Guy said Maines was flat out nuts...says he “You don’t go out of your way to piss off your fan base like that!”
I am as big a fan as it gets when it comes to the Eagles. But, I hate what they did to Don Felder. Moreover, I felt that their "new" album was pretty lame and sounded too country to me. Apparently they are still playing alot of those songs on their tour.
Puleeze. Geezer rock and the Dixie Chicks. Spare me.
