I have three requests for you to attempt to get passed into law.
1) The overhead reduction act. This act would require that for every dollar of budgetary spending generated by any bill passed in Congress it would require $2 of federal spending to be cut until the budget is balanced.
2) The replication act. This act would require that the the CBO conduct a top-down review of overlapping responsibilities in governmental departments and organizations to determine which areas are able to be reduced, consolidated or eliminated.
3) The plain english act. The CBO report from the act listed above would be required to be available for people to see a list of what departments we have, what sub-departments there are, who they report to and what their functions are in plain wording.
The reasons I'm proposing these and asking they be brought to bear are simple. We are at the $13 trillion mark for a deficit. My children's children will be responsible for this years efforts alone, and soon, the deficit will surpass the 90% mark for the GDP and that's a completely unsustainable number. I have 3 sons. They are going to be burdened like never before in our country's history. We have so many departments in our government that are overwhelming our ability to perform anything properly, that we can't accomplish the tasks. Ask yourself how many governmental organizations we have that provide job training for unemployed workers. Would it surprise you to know there are over 200? When I did the research in 2002, there were 268. I'm sure the Democrats have ballooned that number by now. Please do not make me explain to my children that we were betrayed by those who we trusted to govern us. Some common sense answers could provide some serious solutions to our MANY problems.
I think that I've put together 3 sensible requests. If you think they are sensible and worth repeating, send to any candidates/elected officials you think might actually listen. If you don't then please explain to me where I am missing something and I will try to modify and send a follow-up in a week.

Tell us about the Burr in your saddle!
Unfortunately common sense, nee sense for that matter, is a foreign concept to the majority of politicians.
Good idea though, take the senator and put him under his own saddle!
My letter to Representative Joe Barton:
Dear Rep. Barton,
I don’t live in Texas but I want to let you know I support you and your original apology to BP. I don’t understand why “whoever” got to you thinks he speaks for “We The People.” Many of us support you although we don’t live where we can vote for you.
The problem is that most US voters do not have the background information you have. Here’s what I wrote on my FaceBook page:
“These Congressional Hearings are nothing but a SHAM and a Smoke Screen to cover up Obama and this Administration’s true Agenda! Support BP, support your English forebears who have BP stock dividends as their ONLY income! THIS IS A SMOKE SCREEN! Follow the Money!!! WHY is everyone supporting the Obama Administration NOW? Do not be deceived by this “CRISIS” of Obama’s [and Soros’] making. I smell sabotage!!!”
Townhall has an article suggesting that Obama is intentionally blocking the Gulf Clean up. And then WND has an article that FRANKLIN RAINES “owns a key carbon-emissions patent he developed as CEO of the government-sponsored mortgage giant Fannie Mae, positioning him and his partners to make millions of dollars if it is used in any carbon-capping scheme implemented by the Obama administration.”
There is SO MUCH collusion in this Administration and the public does not know about it.
Sir, if you can first educate the public with documentation before you make your truthful statements, I believe your constituents will understand and support you.
PLEASE continue to speak up and speak out. What you say is resonating with Patriot Americans all across the United States of America.
Sincerely,
[signature]

I like it.
He needs the encouragement.
