I know... I’m tempted to go get one.
Horse crap. I weigh 118 lbs and eat about 4000 Kcals per day.
When I was in the hospital after an accident (slip/fall off a mountain) one of the major concerns was my sodium level was too low. The Docs wouldn't let me drink straight water because of that.
You eat what you need to eat, and I'll eat what I damn well please and keep the nanny state out of it.

There are countless dietary products out there that actually tell you the content breakdown of restaurant foods is.
You really need more information?
Melas, you’re being gamed.
Unless you're talking about Washington DC where there really are a lot of fat and/or gay people.
;)
If anyone at all wonders what they are eating, there are books, applications, other computer programs that make it crystal clear what the food content is.
This magazine is contributing to the sensationalization of food.
That IS NOT a rational, or good thing. It and other similar focus efforts will lead to government intervention.
You made some great points. I agree with you completely. I certainly would never eat like this every day, but I am sure not going to tell anyone else what they should eat.
i don’t know about anyone else but it’d take me 2-3 sittings to eat an entire one of those meals.
I believe the Obama administration has already made moves to get food manufacturers to reduce sodium in food. Sodium is a preservative, and also helps with taste.
If you enjoy bland food, just eliminate salt completely.
Could it get to the place that we can only get salt upon request in a restaurant? I’m not ruling that out under this clown.
Where are you guys getting this nanny state BS from? No one was calling for anyone to stop anyone from eating anything. This was just a magazine article with information. Information that I’m grateful for, because at the moment my private food lab is under construction, so I have to rely on outside sources to breakdown what’s in the food I eat.
That paper bag is rather tasty. Not.
The magazine is called “Men’s Health” and I would expect them to be quite alarmist in their viewpoint.
That being said, this is the same alarmist crap those clowns from CSPI pull all the time.
Just because you eat one of these meals every once in a while isn’t a bad thing.
It’s up to each person to determine that.
Every person’s health and metabolism is different, so how can one size fits all prescriptions make any sense.
These doo gooders want to make everyone conform to their standards. Some people can eat high fat foods and some have to eat vegetarian (Dick Cheney is a good example). My grandfather ate pig’s feet, hog jowls and drank pot liquor his whole life. Lots of pork. He also smoked since he was about 14 and drank his share of Jim Beam. I joke around that smoking and drinking killed him at the early age of 97.
So books, computer programs, and smart phone applications that tell me what is in my food are ok, but magazine articles that tell me what is in my food are bad? This makes sense to you?
That’s just gross.
It’s true at my local Friendly’s. The food is good, but the service is very slow. It always seems as if they are understaffed.
Liberals obsess about food because their heads are so empty of substance.
I’d be the last person to suggest folks should eat like this all the time, but frankly, it’s not my business. And you have expressed pretty much the same thought.
If people want to kill themselves, it’s just none of my business. It’s none of the government’s business either.
I want to be healthy. I want to feel good. If they don’t, to each his/her own.
Same. Some of those things were just way over the top, not just nutritionally but portion size as well.
