Many people are eager at times to point out America’s history of slavery, which no one defends. But those same people never seem to be as concerned about slavery occurring TODAY in 2010, not in 1865.

Let’s not forget Dubya recognizing this monstrosity, this a a bipartisan screw up.
Because those eager beavers are most likely either customers or economic beneficiaries of said industry.

Judging by the racial situation today, people do not realize that America’s history of slavery was probably the first nail in America’s coffin.
Yes, art imitated life and it was a really good film.
But as cvq pointed out:

This is happening now, and the proceeds benefit terrorism. Sorry to say, but I think that some of our politicians are in on it. These gangs use the US & NATO to "secure the area" so that this kind of drugs, sex-slaving and gun-running can take place, and then they give our politicians their cut (pick up at 1:20 mark).
Karzai's Afghanistan was the first to recognize Kosovo independence, and Kosovo, Albania and Macedonia are the entry points for illegal drugs into Europe. This same region makes its money off of sex-slaving and people trafficking, and then stuffs US & Euro Politicians for facilitating politically facilitating them.
May God Help us all -- especially these women, who are paying the price for our ignorance and unwillingness to help.
This is heartbreaking, but well worth watching.
